本発明は自動車等の車体外板の接合構造に関す

ウインドの両側に沿つて延びる側壁部にはルーフ
パネルとリヤクオータパネルとの間の継目が設け
られ、該継目に沿つて突き合せ溶接することによ
り両者が接合されている。このような接合構造
は、強度性を充分に確保するとともに、段差や曲
面の不連続を生ずることなく外観上それと気付か
れないように連続した曲面をなして美麗に仕上げ

接合構造では、上記要求、すなわち強度性および
外観上の美麗性が得られる反面、裏当材を別個に
必要とするため、部品点数の増加を招くという欠

込みにより継目を一縁とする窓があけられてお
り、該窓の両側は継目に沿つてせぎり段付けされ
ており、上記窓の一縁およびこれに続くせぎり段
に対して他方の板材の端縁が臨んでおり、上記一
方の板材は窓の両側部分で車体内部へ屈曲してい
てかつ上記切込みによつて形成されたコ字状切込
み舌片がその端部で継目を跨いで屈曲し該端部が
上記窓の一縁部側の一側部分裏面に溶接されてい
て、継目中央では上記切込み舌片を裏当材として
その上で両板材が突き合せ溶接されており、継目
両側では一方の板材のせぎり段に他方の板材が突
き合せ溶接されていることを特徴とするものであ

だけせぎり段付けしてなるせぎり段4,4が形成
され、上記窓3の一縁部3aとこれに続くせぎり
段4とによつてルーフパネル2の端縁2aが突き
合わされる突き合せ端縁部が構成されているとと
もに、上記リヤクオータパネル1の窓3の両側部
分5,5は車体内部へ断面く字状に屈曲形成さ
れ、且つ前記切込みによつて形成されたコ字状切
込み舌片6はその下端部6aにおいて継目lを跨
いで屈曲形成されて、該切込み舌片6の下端縁が
窓3の一縁部3a側の一側部分裏面に達し且つ当
接するように形成され、予めスポツト溶接等によ
り窓3の一縁部3a側の一側部分裏面に仮止め状
態に接合されている。すなわち、上記切込み舌片
6は断面形状において三角形の二辺を構成するが
如き窓3の両側部分5,5に対して三角形の斜辺
を構成するが如くなつて、その下端縁が窓3の一
縁部3aより下方に臨み且つその一側部分裏面に
当接されるのである。尚、7は上記屈曲形成時切
込み舌片6が窓3の一側部分5と干渉するのを防
止するために切込み舌片6の側縁部を切欠いた切

ヤクオータパネル1の上端線はルーフサイドイン

ることなく連続した曲面をなすように美麗に仕上
げることができ、しかも裏当材はリヤクオータパ
ネル1の一部分(切込み舌片6)を利用したもの

屈曲し該端部が上記窓の一縁部側の一側部分裏面
に溶接されていて継目中央では上記切込み舌片を
裏当材としてその上で両板材が突き合せ溶接され
ており、継目両側では一方の板材のせぎり段に他
方の板材が突き合せ溶接されていることにより、
部品点数を増加させることなく車体外板接合部の
強度性および外観上の美麗性を充分に確保するこ
とができるので、低コストでもつて実用上優れた

切込み舌片を裏当材としてその上で両板材が突き
合せ溶接されており、継目両側では一方の板材の
せぎり段に他方の板材が突き合せ溶接されている
