CONSTITUTION:A mothproof agent, obtained by previously impregnating a filter paper, etc., with a <=5C alcohol 2, e.g. ethanol, or forming the alcohol into a gel or solid shape with a gelling agent or swelling agent, etc., and putting the alcohol in a closed container 1, e.g. a baglike film having a closable and openable chucklike opening part 4, and containing clothing 3. 従来防虫剤、とくに衣類等の防虫剤として(1)   
 ’パラシクロールベンゼン、 (2)ナフタリン、(
3)樟脳、(4)ピレスロイド、(5)脱酸素剤等が使
用されている。このうち(1)〜(3)は強い臭いがあ
るため   ゛保管場所から出してすぐ着用するのに抵
抗があり、(4)は非常に高価で一般的ではない。また
(5)は酸素不透過性の高い容器との組合せで有効であ
るため、実用には制約がある。

合わせた防虫剤として各種薬剤を鋭意検討した結果、ア
ルコール類が強い防虫性を有することを見出し、次に述
べる発明に到達した。

C6以下のアルコールとしてはメチルアルコール、エチ
ルアルコール、フロビルアルコール、プf ル、 フル
コール、アミルアルコールであり、この中メチルアルコ
ールは毒性があって沸点が低く、逆にブチルアルコール
、アミルアルコールは高沸点であるため、エチルアルコ
ール、n−プロピルアルコール、i−7”ロピルアルコ
ールが好ましい。

コール蒸気が短時間で充満し、衣類に付着した害虫の卵
、幼虫、成虫を死滅させる。03以下のアルコールでは
特て気化が速いため防虫効果は速効性であり、かつ衣類
を取出した後のアルコール臭もすぐ気散し残存しない。

ら人体に対する安全性は高く、衣類やその付属品(金属
、プラスチック等)に害を及ぼさず、容器のプラスチッ
クも侵さない。また蒸発速度が速いため速効性であると
共に衣類にアルコール臭が残留しない。そのほかアルコ
ールには殺カビ、殺菌効果もあるので、衣類をプラスチ
ック製に収納保管する場合シて最も適した防虫剤であり
、その利用範囲は広い。
