(Prior art) In the past, low-quality hides were those taken from older animals, or even the same hides that were removed from the surface of the animal and closer to the meat surface. There has been no new method to make these leathers closer to those considered to be of higher quality.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention has finally been achieved as a result of intensive studies to achieve the above object. That is, the gist thereof is a method for processing natural leather, which is characterized by applying high-speed fluid flow treatment to substantially the entire surface of the tanned natural leather that does not have a silver surface. .

It is well known that a high-speed fluid stream is applied to ultrafine fibers made of synthetic polymers to entangle the fibers. The idea was to entangle them more tightly and form a silver surface.
However, the present invention is based on a new finding that surprisingly provides an unexpected result of imparting a softening effect to natural leather. I guess it's not just because the leather expands with water. Leather is made up of three-dimensional intertwining of bundles of bundles of collagen fibers (branch after branch), and considering that the size of the bundles determines quality, it is important to carefully open up the bundles. It is believed that the more it is woven, the more it becomes soft and transforms into a high-quality leather. On the other hand, its limitations can be easily understood from the fact that the number of fibers that make up the bundle cannot be changed. Therefore, the present invention is to open fine fibers that are tightly tied together as much as possible,
It has been discovered that the present invention can achieve this effect. It is thought that if the pressure of the high-speed fluid flow is appropriately selected, the splitting of the bundle precedes the entanglement of the fibers, and the effects of the present invention are exhibited. Although the high-speed fluid flow normally causes the oil (usually fatted), which is essential for the flexibility of leather, to be degreased and removed, this does not impede the effectiveness of the present invention. It can be refattened to make it much more flexible than low temperature or vacuum drying. The high-speed fluid flow referred to herein may be any liquid, gas, etc., but water is most preferable from the point of view of economy and safety. It also includes those containing various drugs, surfactants, thickeners, etc. The preferred form of fluid treatment is columnar flow, but membrane flow may also be used. The columnar flow may be turbulent. Pressure is important. If it is too strong, the leather will be cut, and if it is too weak, the desired effect will not be achieved.

It is important that the high-speed fluid flow treatment be performed over substantially the entire surface of the sheet-like leather. In this method, it is preferable to swing the cap approximately perpendicularly to the direction in which the sheet moves, that is, on the X axis. It is particularly preferable to further add the Y-axis direction and perform XY rocking. Of course, it is also possible to intentionally create partial unevenness.

A tanned pig hide made of natural leather with a thickness of approximately 1.3 mm and sliced on both sides and having no silver surface was placed on a conveyor net and waterjet punched while moving at 25 cm/min. 0.25 for the base
A large number of holes of 2.5 mm in diameter were made at 2.5 mm intervals, the water pressure on the back of the mouthpiece was set to 100 Kg/cm 2 , and the treatment was performed while repeatedly rocking 6 mm. This process was repeated three times. Through this treatment, the skin, which had previously had a rough surface, became slimy, like the skin of a catfish. The back side was treated in the same way, then dipped in a finishing oil solution for leather, squeezed three times with a mangle, and finally dried in a tumbler for 50 minutes.
Proceed at ℃. This material was significantly more flexible than before treatment. When this product was used to remove water from wet glass, it had superior water removal properties compared to the product before treatment.
