Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve preheating efficiency and to prevent weld defects by forming one end side of a backing strip body to a rugged shape. CONSTITUTION:The backing strip body 1a is prepd. of a rectangular steel plate and the rugged shape consisting of recesses 2a and projecting parts 2b is formed to one end side thereof. One end of the backing strip 1 is pressed to the side face of a columnar structural member 3 and the other end is spot-welded to the bottom surface of a beam structural member 4, then the two members 3, 4 are welded at the time of welding the member 3 and the member 4, etc. The weld heat is transferred through the recesses 2a of the backing strip 1 to the rear side thereof in this stage and therefore, the preheating efficiency in the stage of welding is improved. Since the jet gaseous flow by arc energy passes the recesses 2a without convection, the formation of the weld defects is prevented.

の両部材間を溶接する。これらの溶接に際して熱が裏当
金(1)の凹部(2a)を通ってその裏側にまでまわる
ため予熱効率が良く、又、アークエネルギーによるジェ
ット気流が対流せずに凹部(2a)を透過するため、溶
接欠陥を生じない。

対流せずに前記凹部を透過して溶接欠陥がなくなり、更
に閉鎖溶接に伴う噴き出しがなくなり等圧状態が保て、
又ガスシールド方式によるアーク溶接には特に効果的で
ある等の効果を有する。
