Abstract

PURPOSE:To mold easily the vehicle window excellent in decorative effect, while improving its sealing property by achieving the injection molding for a product after the layer of the adhesive to the heat-activated has been formed on the peripheral edge of a window-glass. CONSTITUTION:The opaque colored layer 7 such as a paint film is formed at the peripheral edge of the rear side of a glass 1, and the layer 8 of the adhesive to be heat-activated is formed on both front and rear sides and the side surface of said outer periphery. The holding part 3a of a retainer 3 is fitted onto a specified position from the upper surface of the adhesive layer 8 with a blot 3b, penetrating said bolt to its rear side. Next, the peripheral edge of the glass 1 is inserted into an injection mold 10, and the mold is clamped. Resin is injected into a cavity 10c to mold a frame 2 on the peripheral edge of the glass 1, and then simultaneously the adhesive layer 8 is activated by the heat of the injected resin, whereby the glass 1 is integrally fixed to the frame 2. A molding 6 is molded by other injection molding, and the outer surface of said molding is arbitrarily decoration-treated by coating, plating or vapor deposition.

In the window manufacturing method described above, first, a releasable coating layer 5 is formed on the outer surface of the glass 1 at least on the portions of the frame material 2 where the decorative portions 2a, 2b are to be formed. Next, the clamping portion 3a of the retainer 3 is clamped and fixed to the peripheral edge of the glass 1 from above the coating layer 5. Then, it is set in an injection mold and clamped, and a soft synthetic resin is injected into the cavity to integrally mold the frame material 2 so as to cover the peripheral edge of the glass 1 including the retainer 3. The glass 1 on which the frame material 2 has been formed is taken out from the mold and subjected to an appropriate degreasing treatment, and then a coating layer 2h is formed on the surface of the frame material 2.

In the method for manufacturing a vehicle window of the present invention, when the peripheral edge of the window glass on which the heat-activated adhesive layer is formed is inserted into an injection mold and injection molding is performed, the peripheral edge of the window glass is formed by the injected resin. While the frame material is formed, if the injected resin is molten resin, it is heated to maintain the molten state.
In addition, if the injected resin is a reactive resin, the adhesive layer is activated by the reaction heat and the frame material is integrally fixed to the window glass, so the frame material does not peel off from the window glass and has excellent decorative properties. A vehicular window can be obtained.

In the installed state, the molding 6 has decorative properties through arbitrary decoration treatment, and is fixed to the frame member 2 by the adhesive material 9, so there is no risk of it falling off. Moreover, since the frame material 2 is fixed to the glass 1 by the adhesive layer 8, there is no fear of peeling, etc., and excellent decorative properties are maintained. The colored layer 7 blocks the back surface of the peripheral edge of the glass 1 and provides decoration when viewed from the front side.
