Prior Art The present applicant has previously proposed that sunlight or artificial light is focused by a lens or the like, introduced into a light guide, and transmitted through the light guide to any desired location for illumination or other uses. Various proposals were made. In this case, if the light energy propagating within the light guide can be branched and extracted from the light guide during its propagation, the efficiency of use of light energy can be further improved. There was no such optical branching means, which was extremely inconvenient.

Purpose The present invention was made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and in particular, an optical branching device capable of branching and extracting a part of the light energy propagated within a light guide rod from the light guide rod. It was made with the purpose of providing.

Configuration FIG. 1 is a front view for explaining one embodiment of the branching device according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is the -
This is a line sectional view. In the figure, 1 is a first light guide rod, and the light guide rod 1 is provided with a through hole 2 in the radial direction, and one surface 5a of the through hole 2 is provided with a light guide as shown in the figure. It has a certain inclination with respect to the axial direction of the rod 1. Reference numeral 3 designates a second light guide rod, and the light guide rod 3 is fixed to the outer peripheral portion of the first light guide rod 1 at a position facing the inclined surface 5a of the through hole 2. However, since it is difficult to make a hole in the light guide rod 1 having the inclined surface 5a, in reality, the same light guide rod as the light guide rod 1 is cut into rounds to the desired thickness. For example, the light guide is divided into two parts through the center, one of the light guides is used as it is, for example, as the light guide 4, and the cut surface of the other light guide is processed into an inclined surface 5a to become the light guide 5, and these are used as the light guide. For example, a through hole 2 as shown in the figure is provided between the rods 1 by adhering them with optical glue or the like.

FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example of a light guide fitted into the through hole 2, in which a is a plan view and b is a side view.Actually, at least two such light guides 6 are prepared, These are inserted into the through hole 2 from both sides of the through hole 2, as shown at 6a and 6b in FIG. In this case, the light guides 6a, 6b are inserted until the insertion sides 6a' and 6b' of the light guides 6a and 6b coincide with each other.
When the rods 6a and 6b are inserted into the through hole 5, all the light that has been propagated in the direction of arrow A in the light guide rod 1 is propagated in the direction of arrow B, but the insertion side end faces 6a',
6b', a part of the light propagated in the direction of arrow A is reflected in the part corresponding to the gap and propagated in the direction of arrow C, and passes through the light guide rod 3. taken out. The amount of light extracted from the light guide rod 3 can be adjusted by changing the length of the gap l, that is, the amount of insertion of the light guides 6a and 6b. At that time, unless the air in the gap l is released to the outside, the end surfaces 6 of the light guides 6a and 6b
Since a' and 6b' cannot be brought into close contact with each other, in order to avoid such a problem, in the present invention, a thin through hole is formed in one or both of the light guides 6a and 6b in the axial direction. There is.

Although one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. For example, as shown in FIG.
are formed into a parallelogram, and have parallelogram surfaces 2'' in the parallelogram through hole 2' which align with the through hole 2' as shown in FIG.
It will be readily understood that these may be prepared and inserted into and removed from the through hole 2' in the same manner as the light guides 6a and 6b. Further, in the embodiment, the light guides 6a, 6b or 7a, 7b
The case where one pair of light guides 6a, 6b or 7a, 7b is used has been described, but for example, as shown in FIG.
b) is further divided into two (light guide 7b is divided into light guide 7a)
It is also possible to use 7a 1 and 7b 2 (which are omitted in FIG. 7 because they are exactly the same as 7a 1 and 7b 2), and have these 7a 1 and 7a 2 act in the same way as the light guide 7a. In this way, the gap can be adjusted for each pair, so the amount of branched light can be adjusted more finely.

Effects As is clear from the above explanation, according to the present invention, the light propagated in the light guide rod can be branched and extracted using a simple and inexpensive configuration, and the amount of extracted light can be reduced. A light branching device that can be easily adjusted can be provided.
