Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic storage device with a very short head seek time, by arranging thin film heads on a slider for a number equal to the number of tracks on a magnetic storage medium and selecting electrically one of them. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is formed by arranging a thin film head by the number corresponding to the number of tracks of a magnetic storage medium, on one piece of slider, and curtailing a mechanical part of a head actuator, etc. The magnetic storage medium 1 is rotated at a constant speed by a spindle motor 4. Subsequently, by a signal from a tracking controller 6, one head on a head module 12 is selected. In this state, read-out and write from and to the magnetic storage medium 1 are executed by a read/write circuit 7.

ければならず、ヘッドシーク時間が数十m8必要である
などの問題点があった0 この発明は上記のような問題点を解消する為にナサれた
もので、ヘッドシーク時間が非常に短い磁気記憶装置を
得ることを目的とする。

ック数に相当する数だけ並んでいるのが特徴である。
