その他の屋根における大棟の棟端部が挿嵌され
て、大棟7の内面に設けられた通風路と通気孔5
の下方の外気が連通される。

けられるものであるから、屋根瓦の内面に設けら
れている通風路を経由して大棟の内面に設けられ
ている通風路に集められた空気は、空洞、通気孔
を経由して外気中に排出され、特に妻側の壁面と
平行な風向きの場合であつても、軒先から侵入す
る空気力によつて小屋裏の効果的な換気が可能で
あり、結露やこれに起因する腐蝕を防ぐことがで
きる。
