Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a ship to safely sail through a narrow channel, and to satisfy a canal rule, by connecting the floor section and ceiling section around a steering unit with each other through a transparent member to form a capsule, and by elevatably arranging the capsule. CONSTITUTION:A transparent cylindrical member 8 for storing therein a capsule 6 is arranged in the attaching section of the capsule 6 in a steering cab 1, having the lower end extended to a ceiling liner 17 in an accommodation space below the steering cab 1. Racks 9 are attached to opposite side surfaces of the cylindrical member 8, and pinions 10 adapted to mesh with the racks 9, and gears 11 and motors 12 for rotating the pinions 10 are arranged below a floor surface 3 of the capsule 6. A cable 15 for sending signals to various equipments is extended from a space below a steering stand 14, and an excess length part of the cable 15 is stored in a cable storage 16. Further, if the capsule 6 is moved to a raised position, it is possible to see a point P even through loaded cargo 20 is left as it is. Thereby it is possible to safely sail the ship even through a narrow canal and to satisfy a canal rule.

In modern cargo ships, the bridge is generally built at the rear of the ship, while in bulk carriers, for example, the bridge is located at the rear of the ship.
As shown in the figure, many have an upper deck configured to carry cargo such as containers or wood on a hatch cover.

However, the see-through body only needs to be used within a range where the driver can secure the field of vision, and therefore, for example, the lower half portion may be formed of a steel plate or the like. The capsule may be rectangular, cylindrical or elliptical. This capsule will have an entrance and exit, but will also have windows, ventilation holes, etc. as appropriate. As a means for raising and lowering the capsule, a rack and a binion may be used, or the capsule may be lifted with a wire or the like. In order to prevent the capsule from becoming unstable in the raised position, measures such as supporting the capsule by providing a pedestal or providing a frame on the bridge so that the capsule fits within it in the raised position Take the following steps.

There may be only one steering device inside the capsule, but one steering device may also be provided outside the capsule so that they can be switched between each other, so that the steering device outside the capsule is normally used.

A transparent cylindrical body 8 for accommodating the capsule is provided at the attachment site of the capsule 6 in the wheelhouse 1. The lower end of the cylindrical body 8 reaches the ceiling lining 17 of the living area below the wheelhouse 1. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, racks 9 are attached to approximately the center of both sides of the cylinder 8 in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder. A pinio/10 that meshes with the rack 9, a drive gear 11 that rotates the pinion 10, and a motor 12 are attached thereto. As shown in FIG. 4, a guide rail is attached parallel to the rack 9 to prevent the capsule 6 from moving laterally. A cable 15 for sending signals to each device extends from below the steering stand 14, and its excess length is stored in a cable locker 16 and further extends from there to connect to each device. The ceiling portion 4 of the capsule 6 has a flange 18 at its peripheral edge, and is configured so that when the capsule 6 is in the lowered position, the flange contacts the upper edge of the cylinder 8 via a waterproof gasket 19 to make it waterproof. .
