Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the putrefaction and deterioration of a raw feed and efficiently store the feed, by cutting off the circulation of air to a layer of the raw feed and inserting disoxidizing materials consisting essentially of iron powder absorbing oxygen into the raw feed layer. CONSTITUTION:An air barrier film 5 is spread on a filled layer of a raw feed 3, e.g. corn, stored in a silo 2, etc., for cutting off the circulation of air to the layer of the raw feed 3. Weights 6 are then placed thereon. Disoxidizing materials 4 consisting essentially of iron powder absorbing oxygen are further inserted into the layer of the raw feed 3. This method is applicable also to an already constructed silo structure and the raw feed 3 can be efficiently stored while preventing the putrefaction and deterioration thereof without installing a new power source.

<Prior art and its problems> Conventionally, succulent feed such as corn, vetch, and sweet potato vines have been cut into pieces and stored in silos. Since the raw feed packed in the feed is made of cowhide, it has a respiration effect, and when carbohydrates are decomposed and oxygen in the silo is consumed and carbon dioxide gas increases, the plants stop respiration.

Next, sickling bacteria begin to act, and lactic acid bacteria brought along with the plant mainly break down sugars and create lactic acid. For this reason, the lactic acid makes it acidic, which inhibits the growth of spoilage bacteria.

However, in actual silos, it is difficult to ideally prevent decomposition and deterioration, and 20 to 30% of the silo, especially the upper part where there is a lot of air left during filling, decomposes and degenerates and is used as feed. Useless parts are usually occurring.

Conventionally, measures to prevent decomposition have included simply placing a cover on the upper layer or placing a weight on it, but both methods were incomplete. In addition, in order to artificially maintain the acidity inside the silo from the beginning of loading, treatment methods using acids such as sulfuric acid, which are chemicals, are used, but handling the acid is dangerous and complicated.

In addition, feed includes ryegrass, millet, etc. in addition to the vetch described above. In the silo L, shredded cattle feed 3 is filled into the silo space through a window 2. At this time, especially the deoxidizing material 4 is interspersed in the packed bed of the cattle feed 3. In this case, since air enters from one side of the packed bed, it is preferable to scatter more deoxidizing materials 4 in the upper layer.

After filling the cattle feed 3 and scattering the deoxidizing material 4, an air barrier membrane 5 is installed to prevent air from flowing into the packed bed of cattle feed.
When spreading the material over the packed bed, and more preferably at key points on the outer edge of the packed bed, it is best to place weights 6 on it so that it can follow the sinking of the packed material. Promotes early proliferation and suppresses corrosion deterioration.

After the production of lactic acid is finished, the reacted deoxidizing material can be easily separated when the packed material from the packed bed is used as feed, and only the deoxidizing material is consumed in the once-a-year cycle.

There are various types of deoxidizing materials, both organic and inorganic, but in terms of economy and feed safety, those that are mainly made of iron powder and use salt as an oxidation aid are superior and inexpensive. The deoxidizing material is
When charging into a succulent packed bed, it is packaged in an air-permeable packaging material and is dispersed and charged in large quantities in the upper part of the packed bed where spoilage is relatively likely to occur. Note that the amount of the deoxidizing material charged is determined according to the amount of residual air that can be calculated from the porosity of the shredded cattle feed filling layer in the silo.

The membrane that substantially blocks air flow to the packed bed may be a combination of rigid and flexible materials, or only flexible materials, and the outer edge in contact with the wall of a structure such as a silo may be made of sand, etc. It is preferable to provide a weight with a bag filled with granules or a fluid such as water. A synthetic resin sheet such as vinyl or polypropylene can be used as the membrane that blocks the flow of air or the like.

.. 0 0 <Effects of the Invention> In the present invention, in order to prevent stored materials from decomposing and deteriorating, deoxidizing material can be charged into the silo without newly installing a silo structure, a power machine and a power source for the same. Then, by cutting off the flow of air to the storage container by means such as providing a cover on the top of the layer, lactic acid fermentation can be promoted, the growth of rotten parts and mold can be eliminated, and quantitative loss of stored materials can be prevented. Furthermore, it does not cause a decrease in the nutritional value of the feed, and is extremely effective due to its simple method.

Furthermore, when feeding from the silo is started, secondary fermentation such as putrefaction occurs because the storage layer is exposed to air. Corruption can be significantly reduced by cutting off supply.
