Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately detect the amount of snowfall, by detecting the change in the heat capacity of snow receiving plate caused by snow by a thermoscope. CONSTITUTION:A switch 5 is preliminarily closed and atmospheric temp. is fallen when snow falls and the latent heat is taken from a snow receiving plate 1 by snow (a) and, when the temp. of the snow receiving plate 1 reaches 10 deg.C or less, a thermoscope 4 is closed and a snowfall display lamp 7 is lighted. A thermoswitch 3 is also closed to supply a current to a heater 2 and the snow receiving plate 1 is heated. When snow holds up, the temp. in the vicinity of the switch 3 reaches 20 deg.C and the switch 3 is closed and the supply the current to the heater 2 is stopped. The thermoscope 4 is opened before the supply of a current is stopped and a snowfall display lamp 7 is put out. This operation is performed because the heater 2 is present in one side of the snow receiving plate 1 and the thermoscope 4 is positioned so as to be nearer to the heater 2 than the thermoswitch 3.

In the electrode method, falling snow is melted by a heater, and this snow melting is detected by electrodes at both poles. In this electrode method, the heater is always operated to melt snow, or the outside temperature is measured and the heater is operated when the temperature falls below the set temperature.

Combined with the outside temperature, the snow that accumulates on the snow board lowers the amount of heat on the snow board, and a thermometer detects the drop in temperature due to this decrease in heat, and detects snowfall.

As shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, an electric heater 2 is provided on one side of a snow catcher 1 made of a metal with good thermal conductivity such as aluminum or stainless steel and has a certain heat capacity. The snow catching board 1 is controlled by a thermoswitch 3 such as a thermistor or bimetal installed on the other side of the snow catching board 1 to maintain a constant temperature. This thermo switch;
A temperature measuring device 4 such as a bimetal is attached to one side of the snow catching board 1.A groove 1a is formed in the snow catching board 1, and an electric heater 2 is buried in the snow catching board 1.

Further, the electric heater 2 is connected in series with a switch 5, an AC power source 6. The thermoswitch 3 is connected. Furthermore, a snowfall indicator lamp 7 and an AC power source 6 are provided in series with the thermometer 4. When eating, close FZ constant temperature of thermo switch 3 at 1o0c, 20℃

If switch 5 is closed and it snows, the outside temperature will drop,
The heat of the snow receiving board 10 is taken away by the snow a, and as a result, when the temperature of the snow receiving board 1 falls below 10'C, the thermometer 4 closes and the snowfall indicator lamp 7 lights up. Further, the thermo switch 3 is also closed to supply power to the heater 2. The snow receiving plate 1 is heated by this power supply, and when the snow stops being removed, the temperature near the thermo switch 3 is 2.
When the temperature reaches 0° C., the thermoswitch 3 is opened and power supply to the heater 2 is stopped. Before this power supply is stopped, the thermometer 4 is opened,
The snowfall indicator lamp 7 is turned off. This is because the heater 2 is located on one side of the snow catcher 1, and the temperature detector 4 is located closer to the heater than the thermoswitch 3 is.

Therefore, even if the amount of snowfall is small, the heat capacity of the snow catcher 1 changes due to a small amount of snow, and the temperature change, which is a change in heat capacity, is measured by temperature measurement t? r 4 'Thus, snowfall can be detected.

In addition, instead of the snowfall indicator lamp 7, it can be connected to the control unit of the lightning extinguisher (not shown) to activate a lightning extinguishing device such as a lightning extinguishing vibrator when it snows, and conversely, automatically activate the lightning extinguisher when the snow stops. It also comes with a mouth to stop. Further, although the shape of the snow catcher plate 1 is shown as a rectangle in the embodiment, it may also be in any shape such as a circle.
