Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure instantaneous snowfall rapidly and surely by detecting the temperature deviations of the main heating plate which occur by the effect of instantaneous heat of fusion owing to snowfall.
CONSTITUTION: When falling snow 1 is captured by a main heating plate 2, the temperature deviation of the main heating plate 2 which occurs owing to the effect of instantaneous heat of fusion according to snowfall is detected by a thermocouple A and the electric power corresponding to this temperature drop is supplied from a temperature controller E to a heater C to maintain the surface temperature of the main heating plate 2 constant. The electric power supplied to this heater C is measured with a supply electric power measuring device 6 and this supply electric power is converted as instantaneous snowfall.
