Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the temperature of a billet without any error by excluding a temperature signal when the billet disappears from the visual field of a radiation thermometer from data when detecting the temperature of the moving billet by the radiation thermometer. CONSTITUTION:The billet 2 is heated by a heater 1 and carried out by carrying- out rollers 3. The measurement window of the radiation thermometer 4 is set opposite the exit of a coil 1 and the temperature of the billet 2 is measured. The output signal of the radiation thermometer 4 is inputted to a linearizer 5 and inputted to a temperature controller 6. The voltage signal of the temperature controller 6 is inputted to a timer 7. The timer 7 exclude the signal when the billet 2 disappears from the visual field of the radiation thermometer 4 from the data. Further, if the billet 2 disappears from the visual field of the radiation thermometer, an abnormal signal is generated. Therefore, the abnormal signal is excluded, so the temperature of the billet is measured by the radiation thermometer with high precision.

[Problems with the Prior Art] As shown in FIG. 2, in a system in which a fillet 2 heated by a heating coil 1 of a billet heater is transported by an unloading a-ra 3, the temperature of the billet 2 is measured by a radiation thermometer 4. In a device that detects through contact and issues an alarm when the billet temperature exceeds a predetermined range, the fly may cause an alarm or false alarm indicating that the temperature is abnormal even though the billet temperature is in the upper seat. However, the cause of this false positive detection was previously unknown.

[Background of the Invention] The inventor of the present invention investigated various causes of the temperature detection errors mentioned above, and found that the detection signal of the radiation thermometer was detected by the coil 1 of the billet heater as shown in the graph of FIG. It has been found that the tip of the billet 2 conveyed from the center contains a peak voltage P at the moment it disappears from the measurement field of the radiation thermometer 4. In FIG. 3, time A indicates the moment when the fillet disappears from the field of view of the radiation thermometer 4. It was discovered that this peak signal causes the above-mentioned false detection.
