Two-color plated parts that combine metal white, black, pink, etc. are generally commercially available, but parts that use these three colors at the same time are not yet common. The reason for this is that the processing process is complicated, the durability of the resist agent is weak, and the appearance quality is poor due to stains of different color plating at the boundaries between the first color, second color, and third color. This is because there is.

The present invention is intended to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks and to obtain reasonable and high-quality timepiece exterior parts and ornaments having five color tones.

The manufacturing method of the present invention involves first applying appropriate plating (Au, Ag, Cu, Ni,
Pd, Sn, Co, Zu+ or an alloy thereof), then plating the first color and plating the second color. Also, if a corrosion-resistant alloy is used as a base, the surface is plated with the first color. Alternatively, the surface may be directly plated with the first color and then plated with the second color.

An important point of the present invention is that partial peeling and partial plating are combined in order to ensure the durability of the resist agent. Usually commercially available resist agents can withstand one plating process, but they have the disadvantage of causing poor adhesion such as peeling and lifting when used in two plating processes, especially in the high-temperature alkaline pretreatment.

However, according to the present invention, such high-temperature alkaline pre-treatment is required, and since it is a combination of peeling treatment and plating treatment, and two plating treatments are not required, the durability of the resist agent can be improved. This is something that can be secured.

The next important point is that according to the manufacturing method of the present invention, the third color plating area is not double-layered with the second color metal layer, and the peeled second layer metal is recovered. This results in savings in metal used for plating. The effect is particularly great if the metal to be recovered is a high-priced metal such as Au4.

[Example 1. ] A-F in FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a watch case showing the manufacturing process of the present invention step by step. As shown in Figure 1A, in order to improve the corrosion resistance of the watch case, which is made of copper alloy No. 1,
2μ of N1 plating was performed. After that, Pd-Ni alloy plating with the first color metallic white of 5 is performed,
Furthermore, A' u -Cu has the second pink color of 4.
Alloy plating was performed. After that, as shown in Fig. 1 BiC, mask the part 5 using a plating resist agent at the part 4 where the pink color is to be left, and as shown in Fig. 1 C, mask the part 5 other than the masked part. The Au-Cu alloy plating is removed using Au plating remover, and the P of the first color 5 is removed.
The d-Ni alloy was exposed. Next, use a plating resist agent on the areas where you want to leave a metallic white color; DICJJt
Part 6 was partially masked, and Au--Ni alloy plating 7 shown in E having a third Hamilton Gold color was performed.

Finally, the partially masked resist agent 5 and B was peeled off with trichlorethylene to obtain a five-color plated case shown in F. Gold M white, pink color, obtained in this way,
The watch case finished with five-color plating based on six Hamilton Gold colors had good appearance, corrosion resistance, and plating adhesion. Furthermore, more than 95% of the estimated Au dissolution could be recovered from the stripping solution used to strip the Au-Cu alloy plating.

[Example 2. ] A watch band made of austenitic stainless steel was plated with an Au-Ni alloy having a second Hamilton gold color. After that, partial masking is performed using a plating resist in the areas where the Hamilton Gold color is to be left, and A u -N 1 is applied to areas other than the masked areas.
The alloy plating was removed using an Au remover to expose the stainless steel surface having a first metallic white color. Next, a plating resist was used to partially mask the areas where the metallic white color was to be left, and Rh plating was applied to the entire surface as a third color, black. Finally, the cyst agent was partially masked and removed using trichlorethylene. The thus obtained five-color plating finish based on five colors of metallic white, Hamilton gold color, and black had good appearance, color fastness, and plating adhesion. Also, Au-Ni
More than 95% of the estimated Au dissolution could be recovered from the stripping solution used to strip the alloy plating.
