Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably obtain a member having high decorative value by coating a member with a gold plating layer by striking, printing letters, etc., with a resist, carrying out gold alloy plating, removing the resist and etching the member. CONSTITUTION:A gold plating layer 2 is formed on the entire surface of a member 1 by striking, a pattern and letters are printed with an org. resist 3 and a gold (alloy) plating layer 4 is formed by electroplating. The resist 3 is then removed by immersion in an org. solvent and the exposed gold plating layer 2 is removed by immersion in a gold removing soln. to expose the base. The exposed part of the base is etched with an etching soln. and the layers 4, 2 are removed by immersion in a gold removing soln. A pattern and letters are formed in the surface of the member 1.

[Summary of the Invention 1 The present invention provides a method for forming concave or convex characters and patterns on the surface of a decorative member made of stainless steel, in which the surface of the member is coated with a gold strike plating layer in advance by electroplating, and then After printing a concave character and pattern pattern using an organic plating resist, a gold plating layer is coated using an electroplating method, and then the organic plating resist is dissolved and removed using an organic solvent, and then gold plating is performed. The gold strike plating layer is peeled off and removed by immersion in a stripping solution to expose the surface of the substrate in the pattern of letters and patterns, and a masking layer for etching is formed using the gold plating layer. After etching with the etching solution, the gold plating stripping solution is applied. To form a desired typeface pattern in a concave or convex shape on the surface of a decorative member by immersing it in the gold-plated layer and peeling off the gold plating layer, thereby providing a decorative member with high decorative value in a stable quality and at a low cost. It is in.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in order to etch only selectively predetermined portions of a decorative member that has a generally complex shape and a wide variety of surface finishes, it is necessary to mask the entire surface other than the selectively predetermined portions. However, the conventional method has the following drawbacks.

In method (2), when coating the entire surface with photoresist () in advance, it is impossible to prevent liquid from pooling due to the complex shape, resulting in variations in film thickness. It is difficult to set it on the jig. Also, the resist film is prone to pinholes, and the pinholes are etched away, reducing the decorative value. Since it is difficult to detect, inspection and correction must be performed under magnification using a microscope, which takes a long time, resulting in poor work efficiency and high costs.

Means for Solving the Problems The method of etching a decorative member of the present invention is a method for forming concave or convex characters and patterns on the surface of a decorative member made of stainless steel, in which the surface of the member is pre-electroplated. A gold strike plating layer is coated by a method, and then a concave character and pattern pattern is printed using an organic plating resist, a gold plating layer is coated by an electroplating method, and then the organic plating resist is applied. After dissolving and removing it with an organic solvent and then immersing it in a gold plating remover to peel off and remove the gold strike plating layer, the base surface is exposed in the pattern of letters and patterns, and a masking layer for etching is formed using the gold plating layer. The method is characterized in that after etching with an etching solution, the gold plating layer is removed by immersion in a gold plating stripping solution.

[Function] According to the above method of the present invention, the entire surface of a decorative member made of stainless steel is coated with a gold strike plating layer by electroplating in advance, thereby eliminating the commonly performed stainless steel surface activation. Easy to clean before plating,
Adhesion to the substrate can be ensured. Also, the plating film thickness is 0.
.. Since the IL is within 1 m, it does not affect the setting on the alignment jig during printing, and therefore, it is possible to selectively transfer a desired typeface pattern to a predetermined portion during printing. The pre-plating cleaning for covering the gold plating layer after printing does not require strong activation for stainless steel as the gold strike plating layer has been formed in advance, and adhesion is ensured only by quantitative degreasing and neutralization cleaning. Therefore, no peeling of the resist occurs. In peeling and removing the gold strike plating layer after dissolving and removing the resist, there is a risk that the upper gold plating layer may also peel off, but the gold strike plating layer does not peel off. Since the thickness is within 1 μm, it can be peeled off in a short time, and since the upper gold plating layer has a thickness of 0.5 to 5 μm, there is no effect on the upper gold plating layer. By using the above method, the masking for etching has good adhesion to the substrate. It is formed by a gold plated layer that is secured and accurately transfers the typeface pattern, and can be easily etched. The present invention will be described below based on examples.

[Example 1] Figure 1 (a) to (g) shows a part of the part showing step by step the basic manufacturing process of an exterior part for a watch made of 5t JS304 when the etching finish of the present invention is applied. FIG. First, as shown in Figure 1(a), 5US304 material 1
A gold strike plating layer 2 of 0.05 LLm was formed on the entire surface of a watch exterior part by electroplating.
Next, using a glass JIII plate prepared using a desired typeface pattern prepared in advance, an organic resist 3 is printed on the surface of the part by tacho printing as shown in (b), and after baking, as shown in (C). After performing pre-treatment cleaning such as alkaline degreasing and acid neutralization as described above, Au-N was applied to 23 by electroplating.
The i-alloy plating layer 4 was formed to have a thickness of 2 μm. Thereafter, as shown in (d), the organic resist 3 is peeled off by immersion in an organic solvent, and then, as shown in (e), the gold strike plating exposed on the surface is immersed in a gold stripping solution for 10 seconds. After peeling off and removing layer 2 to expose the stainless steel base in the area to be etched, the part was immersed in a 42% ferric chloride solution, rocked for 60 seconds to etch the exposed stainless steel base, and washed with water. The state after this is shown in (e). Furthermore, the Au-Ni alloy plating layer 4 and the gold strike plating layer 2 used for etching masking were peeled off and removed by immersion in a gold stripping solution, as shown in g). Concave or convex characters and patterns are formed on the surface.

[Effects of the Invention 1] As described above, according to the present invention, a gold strike plating layer is formed in advance on the surface of a decorative member made of stainless steel by electroplating, and then a desired typeface pattern is formed using an organic plating resist. Next, a gold plating layer is coated by electroplating, and then the organic plating resist is dissolved and removed with an organic solvent, and first, the gold strike plating layer is peeled off and removed by immersion in a gold plating stripping solution. After exposing the surface of the substrate to the letter and pattern patterns and forming a masking layer for etching with a gold plating layer, etching with an etching solution, and then immersing in a gold plating remover to peel off and remove the gold plating layer.
Overcoming problems such as difficulty in setting a jig in the conventional photoresist method, pinhole correction, or resist peeling during masking with a plating film, it is possible to form a desired typeface pattern in a concave or convex shape in a selective predetermined area and create a decoration. It has become necessary to provide decorative members of high value with stable quality and at low cost.
