Abstract

PURPOSE:To inexpensively prepare a multi-colored clock case having two-color constitution, by a method wherein electrodeposition, painting or anodic oxidation coloring treatment is applied to an aluminum substrate and, after the metal part thereof is exposed by mechanical processing, electrodeposition painting or anodic oxidation coloring treatment is newly applied thereto. CONSTITUTION:Electrodeposition painting is applied to Al or an Al-alloy (hereinafter mentioned as aluminum) and, subsequently, diamond cut 1 is applied to expose the aluminum substrate while anodic oxidation coloring treatment is applied to the exposed parts to form two-color constitution (Fig A). Or, after the aluminum substrate is subjected to anodic oxidation coloring treatment and, thereafter, holes are opened at four places to expose the aluminum substrate while electrodeposition painting is applied to the exposed parts (Fig B). Or, after the aluminum substrate is subjected to electrodeposition painting, diamond cut is applied to the upper surface thereof in a circular form to prepare a roulette pattern 4 and anodic oxidation coloring treatment is applied to said pattern 4 (Fig C). As mentioned above, two-color constitution can be formed and, by repeating this operation, a multi-colored clock is inexpensively obtained without using masking.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a colored watch case. Conventional colored watch cases have the following drawbacks.

・For K, which involves coloring with two or more colors, there are two methods: masking and increasing the number of parts to express the color composition by combining them. However, in the former, there are restrictions on the shapes that can be masked, and there are also restrictions on the boundaries of the masking. Since the plating is wavy, the borders of the plating are not clear, which poses a design problem, and in the latter case, the number of parts increases, which increases costs.O - Since the coloring process is the same, there is no change in texture. In other words, metal plating gives a metallic feel, and painting gives a painted look, and it has been impossible to express both a metallic look and a painted look at the same time.

The present invention eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks. The main purpose of the present invention is to realize an inexpensive multi-colored case. Hereinafter, a detailed explanation will be added based on examples.

Figure 1 shows electrodeposition coating on aluminum (you can simply apply 11J coating on aluminum, or anodize it and make a hole size). The aluminum substrate is then die-cut to expose the aluminum substrate, which is anodized and colored to create a two-color structure.

In Figure 3, after electrodeposition painting, the top surface is diamond-cut to create a knurling pattern, which is then anodized and colored. Electrodeposition coating or anodic oxidation has the property that it can be applied as long as there is a conductive part (metal base), but when used in watches, it has the following effects.

・As described in the embodiment, machining such as die cutting and drilling is used to expose the metal base and create the conductive part, so the number of man-hours is less than that of the masking method. (Leads to cost reduction) - When creating a conductive part using the masking method, there are design restrictions because the shape must be maskable, but there are no restrictions when exposing the coating through machining.

- Even if coloring can be achieved by masking, the ink will ripple during masking, so the distortion will be visible when coloring, and the boundaries between colors will not be as clean as with machining (cutting).

・By using electrodeposition coating and anodizing together, the watch case can simultaneously express the painted feel of electrodeposition and the metallic feel of anodization.

As mentioned above, electrodeposition coating or anodic oxidation/coloring treatment (Figure 4)
After step 6), the metal parts are exposed by machining (7 in Figure 4), and a new electrodeposition coating or anodization (8 in Figure 4) is applied to create a two-color composition. By repeating this process, multicolored cases can be realized inexpensively without using masking.
