Generally, a long molding that is attached to an automobile body panel or the like has an end cap 2 integrated at the end of a molding body 1, as shown in FIG. First, a molding body 1 is extruded and cut to a predetermined size, and then an adhesive is applied to the cut end surface to form a molding space of a mold 5 consisting of a core 3 and a cavity 4, as shown in FIG. 6, and the end face 1a and cavity 4
The end cap 2 is molded by injecting resin into the end cap molding space 7 formed between the molding space 6 and the inner wall 6a of the molding space 6 through the spool part 8 and the gate part 9. It is integrated on the side. However, according to such a manufacturing method, the unnecessary molded parts formed by the spool part 8 and the gate part 9 adhere to the end cap 2, and when they are removed, the unnecessary molded parts are left on the surface 2a of the end cap 2. The remaining 2m of the product or cutting marks remain, resulting in an extremely poor appearance, and the workers must be extremely careful in removing the unnecessary molded product, which is a burden on the workers.

In the present invention, first, the molding body 10 is molded by extrusion molding of resin. do. In this case, decorative films 11 are integrated on both edge sides of the molding main body 10, and a core material 12 made of a metal plate material is integrated inside the decorative film 11. A concave groove 14 that is continuous along the longitudinal direction of the molding body 10 is formed in the center of the bottom surface 13 of the molding body 10 during extrusion molding. Next, such a molding body 10 is set in a mold 15 shown in FIG. This mold 1
5 consists of a core 16 and a cavity 17, and pins 1 facing each other are provided on the inner surface 16a side of the core 16.
8 and 18 are implanted, and both ends of the molding body 10 are held and positioned by the pins 18 and 18, and the molding body 10 is positioned at the center side of the molding body 10 in the core 16 and opposite the groove 14. is the spool portion 1 as a flow path for the molten synthetic resin.

The mold is opened and the molding body 10 is taken out together with the end cap, the spool portion 19, and the unnecessary molded parts formed by the pinpoint gate 20, and the unnecessary molded parts are removed to complete the molding. According to the present invention, since the spool portion 19 and the pinpoint gate 20 are located at the bottom side of the molding, the unnecessary molded parts adhere to the bottom side of the molding, so that the traces or residual parts after removal of the unnecessary molded parts are left on the bottom side of the molding. Since it is located on the side, it does not occur on the surface 2a side of the end cap as in the conventional case, and the appearance of the molding can be improved. In addition, a concave portion is generated by the convex portion 21 at the bottom of the resin layer injected into the groove 14, and the tip of the unnecessary molded product formed by the pinpoint gate portion 20 adheres to this concave portion, so this unnecessary molded product is removed. Even if a residual portion is generated when the molding is done, this residual portion is stored in the recess and hidden, so that the residual portion is exposed from the bottom of the molding and is interposed between the bottom of the molding and the member to be attached, creating a gap between them. This solves the problem of not being able to install the product reliably due to the occurrence of problems. Also, the groove 14
Since a resin layer is formed on the molding, the heat shrinkage of this resin layer can prevent the end side of the molding from warping toward the surface to some extent, and it is possible to suppress peeling of the molding due to warping on the end side.

Furthermore, according to this embodiment, since the end cap molding spaces 23, 23 provided on both sides of the molding body are filled with resin at the same time, two end caps can be molded at the same time and mass production can be achieved. That is, in the past, end caps were individually molded on both sides of the molding body 10, which made it difficult to mass produce and placed a burden on the workers, but the present invention can solve these problems. Furthermore, when resin is conventionally injected into the injection molding space 7, the injection pressure causes the molding body 1 to shift its position, causing scratches on the surface side due to rubbing of the inner surface of the mold, resulting in poor appearance. However, according to this embodiment, since the same injection pressure is applied to both sides of the molding body, the molding body will not be misaligned and scratches due to rubbing will not occur.

In the present invention, as shown in FIG. 6, resin is injected onto the terminal side of the molding body 10 to form the end cap E, and the resin is further poured onto the surface side of the molding body 10 to form the surface layer 3.
0 may be formed. In such a configuration, the color tone of the resin of the surface layer 30 is adjusted to the color tone of the molding body 10.
By making the color tone different, a variety of designs can be obtained.

As explained above, according to the method of manufacturing a molding for an automobile according to the present invention, a molding body that has been extruded and cut into a predetermined size is set in a molding space of an injection molding die, and the end face of the molding body is set in a molding space of an injection molding die. In a molding manufacturing method in which an end cap is formed by injecting resin into an end cap molding space formed between the molding and the inner wall of the injection molding space, the resin injection port is located on the bottom side of the molding. Therefore, the removal residue and removal trace of the unnecessary molded product molded on the injection port side are located on the bottom side of the molding and are not visible from the outside, so that the molding can have an excellent appearance.
