Therefore, conventional vacuum cleaners designed exclusively for the carpet or whose main purpose is to clean the carpet surface use an electric motor to rotate a rotating brush that is used to hit the carpet surface or scrape off the dust that has adhered to the carpet surface. In the above-mentioned conventional vacuum cleaner equipped with a rotary brush, the front part tends to lift up when the vacuum cleaner is operated by pushing with a handle provided at the rear of the vacuum cleaner body, causing the vacuum cleaner body to rise above the floor surface. When the rotating brush is under a light load with low rotational resistance, the rotating brush rotates at high speed, so for example, if it touches the tip of the tufts of a rug, it may cause the tufts of the rug to break. There is a risk that the curtains may be seriously damaged, the noise may become louder, and there is also the problem that curtains, etc., may be sucked in.

During cleaning, when the main body of the vacuum cleaner rises above the carpet surface, the rotating brush moves downward, and the bearing of the rotating brush also moves downward to operate the operating members of the control circuit, thereby controlling the control circuit. Then, the electric motor is stopped or driven at low torque, and the rotating brush is stopped or rotated at low torque. Furthermore, when the vacuum cleaner body properly contacts the carpet surface, the rotary brush moves upward, and along with this movement, the bearing also moves upward, releasing the control operation for the control circuit of the operating body. The rotating brush rotates normally.

According to the present invention, in a vacuum cleaner that rotates a rotary brush with a large torque so as to be suitable for cleaning floors where dust is difficult to remove, such as carpet surfaces, when the vacuum cleaner body rises above the floor surface. Since the rotating brush stops or operates at low torque, the rotating brush does not lift up from the carpet surface and wear and damage only the tips of the tufts, and it does not involve curtains, etc., making noise. It never gets bigger. The rotating brush is always driven in contact with the floor surface and uses the reaction force from the floor surface, so when the main body floats, the bearing of the rotating brush moves downward and detects the rising of the main body. This eliminates the need for separate parts such as a detector that detects the lifting of the main unit when it comes into contact with the floor, allowing the main unit to be operated smoothly without getting caught on the floor when cleaning. The operation of the control circuit of the operating member due to the lifting of the machine body is performed by the rotary brush itself, which is in contact with the floor, etc., so the control circuit can be reliably adjusted according to the state of contact and separation of the rotary brush with the floor, etc. Furthermore, since the actuating member that controls the control circuit is operated by the movement of the bearing, there is no wear due to constant rubbing of the actuating member 21 that comes into contact with the bearing, and the actuating member 21, which controls the control circuit, is not worn out due to constant rubbing. Durability can be improved compared to a structure in which the members are in contact with each other.

1. A vacuum cleaner body with a built-in electric motor, and the vacuum cleaner body is driven by the electric motor and operates in contact with the surface to be cleaned, separating dust from the floor surface and lifting the vacuum cleaner body above the floor surface. A control circuit that controls the electric motor to reduce or stop the operating torque of the rotary brush, and a control circuit that rotatably supports the rotary brush and moves together with the rotary brush. A bearing part is provided on the vacuum cleaner main body so as to be movable up and down, and an operating member that is operated by the bearing part and controls the control circuit is provided on the vacuum cleaner main body opposite to the bearing part. Vacuum cleaner.
