Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the making of a hold by utilizing control data used in boring a hole through a printed wiring board to be tested as it is and to reduce the warpage of said board due to temp. and humidity, by constituting a probe fixing board from two thin boards and fixing both of them by spacers. CONSTITUTION:Probe fixing boards 10-1, 10-2 are superposed by using the control data used in boring a hole through a printed wiring board to be tested and a hole is bored through both of boards. At this time, the bit 13 of a drill is preliminarily replaced with one having a diameter for inserting a probe under pressure. By this method, two probe fixing boards provided with large holes each having a diameter for inserting the probe under pressure at the perfectly same position as the printed wiring board to be tested are obtained. Next, both boards are parallelly arranged so as to provide a constant interval in matching relation to the dimension of the probe and fixed by spacers 11. Then, by using one of two thin fixing boards in order to fix the probe by a press-in ring 1-3 and using the other one in order to support the leading end of a sleeve 1-2, the same effect as a case using a thick board material can be obtained.

The position of the probe on the probe fixing plate 2, that is, the arrangement of the holes, is as follows:
The position may be the same as the component insertion hole of the printed wiring board under test, but as mentioned above, since the material is thick (approximately 10 mm), the disadvantage is that a numerically controlled drilling machine for drilling holes in printed wiring boards cannot be used. This was because the drill bits used in numerically controlled drilling machines have a blade length of several millimeters or less, so they cannot be used for plates as thick as 10 mm.

For this reason, in the past, inefficient methods such as marking hole positions and drilling one hole at a time were used, which had the drawback of making it difficult to achieve accurate hole positions.

In addition, if a numerically controlled drilling machine with a long stroke was to be used, it was necessary to recreate the control data.Furthermore, while the printed wiring board 7 is made of a glass epoxy laminate, etc., the probe fixing plate 2 is Bakelite plates and the like are used, and due to differences in the materials, changes in temperature and humidity can cause misalignment between the positions of the printed wiring board to be tested and the probes of the test jig.

The present invention uses a standard numerically controlled drilling machine for drilling holes in printed wiring boards, and directly utilizes the control data used for drilling holes in the printed wiring board under test to drill holes in the probe fixing plate 2 of the connection jig for testing. The purpose is to relatively reduce deviations due to temperature and humidity by making it possible to open the probe fixing plate 2 and to use the same material as the printed wiring board 7 to be tested as the material for the probe fixing plate 2.

The conventional probe fixing plate 2 shown in Fig. 2 has a plate thickness of 10 mm.
In contrast, in the present invention, two sheets of material each having a thickness of, for example, about 3 mm are used. In this way, even if two sheets are stacked one on top of the other as shown in FIG. 3, it becomes possible to drill holes using an ordinary numerically controlled drilling machine for printed wiring boards. That is, using the control data used for drilling holes in the printed wiring board under test, the probe fixing plate 10-1.

The spacer 11 fixes the relative position of both rotation plates 10-1 and 10-2, and also serves to reinforce the force in the bending direction applied to the fixing plate. The bending of the probe fixing plate when the probes are pressed against each other can be reinforced using the housing 6, depending on the size of the plate and the pressure applied (number of probes). It is not necessarily necessary to have the same strength.

As explained above, by making the probe fixing plate into two thin plates, it becomes possible to process it using a standard numerically controlled drilling machine for processing printed wiring boards, and the control data is also the same as that used for printed wiring boards. Since it can be used as is, it has the effect of making test jigs in a short time. Furthermore, by using the same material as the printed wiring board, it is possible to reduce the number of materials used, and dimensional deviations due to changes in temperature and humidity can be made relatively negligible. Furthermore, by reducing the thickness of the plate, material costs can also be reduced, resulting in lower material costs, processing costs, and processing time.
It has a remarkable effect.
