Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent overheating of a brake disc, by forming cooling holes communicating both side surfaces of the brake disc and inclining each hole relative to an axis of a rotary shaft and relative to a rotational direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A brake disc 1 is formed with cooling holes 5 each communicating one side surface 1b to the other side surface 1c. An opening 5a of the cooling hole 5 on the one side surface 1b is radially and circumferentially slipped from an opening 5b of the cooling hole 5 on the other side surface 1c. With this arrangement, a cooling air is induced into the cooling holes 5 and is blown off therefrom by the rotation of the brake disc 1, thereby reliably cooling the brake disc 1.

転角θを有する構成としたので、ブレーキディスク1の
回転の際に空気が冷却孔5内に掻き込まれ、空気が勢い
よく吹き抜け、また、傾斜させた冷却孔5は空気が当た
る孔内面積が大きく、これによって冷却効果が高まり、
パット4により頻繁に締め付けられる際に発生する加熱
量も充分に逸散することができ、ブレーキディスク1の
加熱によりブレーキオイルが気泡とならずペーパーロッ
クも防止でき制動作用も安定して充分な安全性が保持で
きる。特に上記のように構成した冷却孔5は、泥や塵な
どが孔内に入っても、これら障害物を吐き出す機能があ
って有利である。更に、冷却孔5内にフィンを設ければ
放熱面積がより大きくなり、制動の安全性が更に高まる
