In a printer head having such a configuration, the pressure applied to the ink in the pressure chamber by the piezoelectric ceramic pushes the ink toward the nozzle, but this pressure also pushes the ink in the pressure chamber toward the ink chamber. The pressure that pushes the ink in the pressure chamber toward the ink chamber does not contribute to the ejection of ink droplets from the nozzle, so there is a problem in that the efficiency of ink ejection is poor.

2(a) and 2(b) are sectional views taken along the line AA of the printer head of FIG. 1(b). FIG. 2(a) shows the state when no voltage pulse is applied to the piezoelectric ceramics 5,
When an electric pulse is applied to the piezoelectric ceramic 5, the piezoelectric ceramic contracts and the volume of the pressure chamber decreases as shown in FIG. 2(b), and the pressure acts to push the ink directly toward the nozzle. At the same time, it also acts to push the ink in the direction of the ink chamber hole 17, but the cross-sectional area of the ink flow path 27 between the pressure chamber notch 16 and the ink chamber hole 17 is larger than that of the flow path between the pressure chamber and the side path 19. If the cross-sectional area of 2o is made large enough, most of the pressure in the direction of the ink chamber hole 17 will be transferred to the side passage 20.
It will have the effect of pushing out the heink. Furthermore, since the side passage 19 is connected to the nozzle via the through hole 26, the pressure transmitted to the side passage 20 does not act directly in the direction of the nozzle notch 15 through the side passage 19, but directly from the pressure chamber. The pressure acting on the nozzle notch 15 and the pressure acting on the nozzle notch 15 from the pressure chamber through the side passage 19 are combined, and the ink droplet 6 can be efficiently ejected from the nozzle notch 16.

As explained above, the present invention is capable of efficiently transmitting the pressure applied to the ink in the pressure chamber to the nozzle by driving the piezoelectric ceramic by providing a side passage connecting the pressure chamber and the nozzle. This has the effect that stable ink droplet ejection characteristics can be obtained.
