Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove separation of respective cage racks and to prevent mutual infection and non-uniformity of ventilation by providing a blow-off port through which clean air is supplied in common to all chambers, using rearward spaces of a plurality of cage racks as exhaust chambers, and exhausting the air which has contacted small animals, out of chambers through suction ports provided in the exhaust chambers. CONSTITUTION:Cage racks 12, a pair of which forms a set, are separated into four sets and disposed so that the back surfaces of these racks 12 oppose to each other at suitable intervals. Suction ports 40 are formed at four positions on the floor surface 42 of the animal breeding chamber 10. Partitioning walls 44 are disposed in mating with these positions. Blow-off ports 22 are provided at suitable positions in the ceiling 58 of the animal breeding chamber 10, and clean air 24 which has been air-conditioned is blown off into a common space 56. The clean air blows into the cage racks 12 from the front surface 30 thereof, and is substituted with air within the cages and comes into contact with small animals. Thereafter, the air reaches a rear surface space 54 through a rear surface 32. The air is sucked up from a suction port 40 and rapidly exhausted out of the animal breeding chamber 10.

Pathogens from infected small animals can infect other small animals. The disadvantage is that the probability of so-called cross-infection is extremely high. In addition, since the cage rack and the cage act as ventilation resistance, there is a drawback that air passes through the cage rack, resulting in insufficient ventilation or uneven ventilation within the cage.

FIG. 8 shows a third embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the contaminated air in the back space 54 is exhausted from the suction port 84 provided in the ceiling 82 of the partition wall, and is exhausted to the outside of the animal breeding room 10. Furthermore, a ring air vent 86 is provided at a suitable location on the side wall 78 and floor surface 42 of the animal breeding room IO, and the common space 56 of the animal breeding room
The air is sucked in and returned to the air conditioner 16. The air sucked in from the ring air port 86 does not pass through the cage rack 12, and is relatively clean. Moreover, the air is conditioned. Therefore, even if the recycled air 88 is used for circulation, the load on the air conditioner 16 and the load on the air cleaner 20 do not increase significantly. Therefore, the ventilation frequency of the animal breeding room IO can be freely adjusted to maintain the indoor temperature, humidity, and cleanliness at desired values. In this way, the clean air supplied from the outlet is separated into two systems: contaminated air that goes through the cage rack, and relatively clean air that does not go through the cage rack, and the contaminated air is exhausted and relatively clean air is released. Since the air is recirculated as return air, the load on the cold heat source and HEPA filter can be significantly reduced compared to, for example, when all the air required for ventilation is taken in from outside air for air conditioning or purification. In the conventional ventilation equipment shown in FIGS. 9 and 10 above, the clean air sent into the animal breeding room 10 is contaminated on average, making it difficult to reuse.

In animal breeding rooms, the amount of outside air taken in (in other words, the amount of exhaust air) is required to ensure the total ventilation required from the perspective of air conditioning and purification, and the oxygen concentration in the air necessary for animal breeding. There is a difference between.

Usually, the former is overwhelmingly common. Therefore, it is extremely effective to effectively separate the return air and exhaust into two systems according to their cleanliness and reuse the return air, as in this embodiment. Furthermore, since exhaust gas is accompanied by a bad odor, it is usually necessary to perform deodorization treatment. According to this embodiment, since the exhaust amount can be suppressed to the necessary minimum, the scale of the deodorizing treatment apparatus can be made small.

As described above, according to the present invention, even in an animal breeding room where a large number of cage racks are arranged in the same room, there is no need to provide separate ventilation equipment for each cage rack, and ventilation equipment can be removed from the common space in the room. Maintenance and management of cages and small animals housed in cages becomes easy. Furthermore, according to the present invention, ventilation is possible without the risk of cross-infection, and sufficient and uniform ventilation can be achieved for the cage. In addition, separate from the exhaust system, it is easy to add a return air system that selectively separates and recirculates only the clean air in the room. Management items can be maintained in a well-balanced and economical manner.
