Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the emulsibility and the use feeling by blending cyclodextrin, oily component, aq. medium and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose of 0.60-0.85 degree of etherification to produce the emulsion composition. CONSTITUTION:An aq. medium such a purified water is slowly heated and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (Na-CMC) of 0.60-0.85 degree of etherification is uniformly dispersed therein. After cyclodextrin is added thereto and dissolved, oily composition is added and emusified at about 50-80 deg.C to obtain the emulsion composition. The bended quantity of Na-CMC is suitably about 1.5-3.3wt.% for the whole compositions. Each of alpha-,beta-, and gamma-cyclodextrin can be used as cyclodextrin and lanolin, bees wax, whale wax and olive oil, etc., are shown as the oily component.

BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, creams, milky lotions, etc., which are emulsified various oil-based and aqueous raw materials, have been widely used as cosmetic emulsified compositions. In producing such an emulsified composition,
In addition to processing the raw materials under various strictly set conditions, it was also essential to use surfactants.

However, in recent years, the level of safety requirements for cosmetics has become even stricter, and the problem of skin disorders in particular has become a hot topic, and the presence of surfactants as a causative agent has been brought into question. For this reason, methods for obtaining cosmetic emulsions without using surfactants have also been proposed. For example, JP-A-55-11527 proposes an emulsified cosmetic whose essential components are an oil-based raw material for cosmetics, an aqueous raw material, a water-soluble polymer compound, and cyclodextrin.

In the detailed description of the invention, it is essential to use Na-CMC,
In particular, Na-CMC with a constant degree of etherification is used. When other water-soluble polymers such as locust bean gum, carrageenan, xanthan gum, methylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and bentonite are used, the emulsion stability is poor or the usability is poor. Undesirable.

*+ As is clear from Table 1, when Na-CMC with a degree of etherification of 0.60 to 0.85 is used as a thickener, it has excellent emulsion stability and feeling of use. Although an emulsified composition is obtained, both emulsion stability and usability cannot be satisfied if other water-soluble polymers are used as thickeners or if the degree of etherification is outside the above range. Further, the amount of Na-CMC blended is preferably 1.5 to 3.3%.
