This invention relates to the improvement of a horizontal traveler for spinning machines, which has a low center of gravity with stable running and a large space in the yarn passage section, which reduces local wear of the traveler and yarn fuzz when used with thick yarns. , the purpose is to obtain a long-life traveler. Conventionally, in the spinning and twisting of cotton, synthetic fibers, and synthetic fibers, there are oval (O-shaped) travelers 1 and box-shaped travelers 2, as shown in Figure 1 A and B, and the former is used for cotton spinning and carding. It is used in cases such as spinning, where thread breakage is relatively likely to occur and stable running of the traveler and a certain degree of flexibility are required, and the ring is configured to reduce the contact area between the ring and the traveler. However, this type of traveler has a very high center of gravity, making it unstable to glide, and has the disadvantage that the traveler may fly off, or the thread may become caught between the traveler and the ring, causing thread fluff or thread breakage. In addition, the latter traveler is used for spinning and twisting cotton synthetic fibers and synthetic fibers, which have a slightly longer fiber length than the yarn used for the former, and lowers the center of gravity to increase the contact area and allow stable running at high speeds. However, because it lacks flexibility, when the strength of the spun yarn is low or when the spinning tension is high, the yarn may break without resisting, or the traveler may wear out due to local friction and the traveler may be damaged due to the wear of the traveler due to local friction. There are drawbacks such as breakage and scattering. The present invention eliminates such conventional drawbacks, and
When spinning relatively thick yarn, we aim to stabilize the spinning process by keeping the center of gravity low, and at the same time, we provide flexibility to follow changes in the strength of the spun yarn and ballooning.
To provide a horizontal traveler for a spinning machine which has a long life, prevents local wear of the traveler's contact portion with yarn, reduces yarn breakage, and prevents breakage or scattering of the traveler. An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. Example As shown in Fig. 2 A and B, a metal wire such as hard steel wire, alloy steel wire, non-ferrous alloy wire, etc. with a thin half-circular cross section is attached to the upper part of the traveler circle 3 with the same dimension as k of the opening at the leg end. Or a short straight line (0.5-1.5mm) head a
, and the opposite side parts 4 following the head a are formed into a large thread passage part b with a radius of curvature R1 (1.8 to 2.8 mm).
and a small upper leg part c with a radius of curvature R2 (1.5 to 0.5 mm) are connected to form a curved line, and the leg end part d continuing to the upper part of both legs is made into a straight line opposing each other inwardly, and both side parts are formed. A symmetrical horizontal traveler for a spinning machine is constructed by setting the radius of curvature as R1>R2 so that the top E of the curve with radii of curvature R1 and R2 is located within a range of 1/3 or less of the height H of the traveler. By the way, the size ratio between the size of the head a and the size G of the traveler circle width in the above traveler is 1:
The ratio should be between 3 and 1:7. Therefore, the above-mentioned horizontal traveler for a spinning machine has a radius of curvature R1 of opposing side parts following a horizontal straight head.
It has a large, gentle curve of 1.8 to 2.8 mm, and the left and right sides are wide, resulting in a low center of gravity, and the thread follows the fluctuations of the ballooning, allowing the thread to move freely without staying in one place. Become. Furthermore, the radius of curvature R2 following the radius of curvature R1 is 1.5 to 0.5 mm.
This makes it compatible with the curved part on the inside lower surface of the ring flange, making it possible to run in a stable state. In addition, at least the surface of the traveler that comes into contact with the ring is coated with a plating film 5 such as nickel plating, nickel-silver, nickel-nickel phosphorus composite plating, or nickel-chrome plating, or a synthetic resin film containing MoS 2 is applied to the traveler. wear resistant,
It is also possible to extend the service life by adding lubricity. A spinning test was conducted using the traveler A of the present invention constructed as described above and the conventional box-type traveler B under the following conditions.

[Table] The results of the spinning test are shown in Figure 3 (the solid line shows the results of the inventive traveler, and the dotted line shows the results of the conventional box-type traveler). Under tests, due to the effect of the low center of gravity design with a thread passing section with a large radius of curvature, the thread passing section does not stay in the same place even for thick yarns, but follows the fluctuations of ballooning, and the traveler. There is no occurrence of yarn breakage or yarn fluff due to local wear, and the number of yarn breakages is reduced. Furthermore, yarn breakage and uneven twisting caused by the traveler's wobbling during high-speed operation are eliminated, making high-speed operation possible. Therefore, this invention has practical effects such as stable running, fewer thread breakages, no wavy wear of the ring, and longer life of the traveler.
