Abstract

PURPOSE:To engrave at a low cost a pattern formed by a beam transmitting part by forming a beam shielding part and the beam transmitting part by applying a heat resisting paint to a machining surface of a base material, and moving relatively a laser beam to the machining surface. CONSTITUTION:A heat resisting paint is applied to a machining surface 2 of an object 1 to be machined of a glass plate, etc., and a beam shielding part 4 of a painted film part of a character, etc. and a beam transmitting part 4 of other part are formed. This object 1 to be machined is placed on a work base, and a laser beam 5 is moved and irradiated in the X-Y directions. In this case, it is also possible that the laser beam 5 is fixed, and the work base is moved. Subsequently, the heat resisting paint is removed by using a thinner, etc., and the surface is polished. According to this method, the engraving can be executed up to a thin line. Also, although the surface of the beam shielding part 3 is smooth, the surface of the beam transmitting part 4 becomes translucent as a ground glass, and a beautiful finish is obtained.

<Prior art> In order to engrave a workpiece, it can be engraved using a cutting tool such as a chisel, engraved by mechanical or physical means such as sandblasting, melted or corroded by chemical means, or melted by laser light. Alternatively, methods such as thermal decomposition have been implemented.

Conventionally, in order to engrave a workpiece using a laser beam, the following methods are used: 1) Move the laser beam or the workpiece in the X-Y axis direction using numerical control to engrave a fixed pattern, or 2) Carve the processed shape. A metal shielding plate made of copper or other material with a transparent part cut out in a pattern corresponding to the pattern is placed closely over the workpiece, and a laser beam is scanned from above in the X-Y direction to irradiate only the transparent part. A method of engraving was known (Special Publication No. 15232/1983).

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> However, in the above method (■), programming for numerical control is complicated when engraving a complex pattern, and the equipment for numerical control is expensive and impractical. There are many cases. In the method shown in ①, the process of obtaining the metal shielding plate by cutting or etching is complicated, so it may differ from the original drawing, and all the drawn lines must be connected, so the process of cutting or etching the metal shielding plate is complicated. There are some drawbacks, such as restrictions on the number of works available.

2), by applying heat-resistant paint to partially form a light-shielding part (3), or by applying heat-resistant paint to the entire surface of the workpiece and then partially peeling off the heat-resistant paint film to form a light-transmitting part (4). ) and a step of forming a light-shielding part (3) with a residual coating film, and a pattern formed in the light-transmitting part (3) by moving and irradiating the workpiece and laser light relative to each other in the X-Y direction. They developed a new method that consists of the process of carving.

<Example 1> FIGS. 1 to 3 are perspective views showing the working process of the first example. In this example, the workpiece (1) is 511II.
A thick glass plate was used, and its processed surface (2) was degreased and cleaned using a trichloride solvent spray method, and then air-dried. Separately 60
A heat-resistant paint (manufactured by Nitto Kogyo Co., Ltd., trade name: silver-based Tetsusol M 8600) mixed with mica at a ratio of 8:1 was prepared and was applied to the glass surface twice using a brush. I drew letters like this. The drawn letters indicate that the part coated with heat-resistant paint is the light-shielding part (3) and the other part is the light-transmitting part (4). and output 200

The resulting glass plate engraved with laser light is engraved down to the thinnest lines, and the glass surface in the light-shielding part is smooth, but the glass surface in the light-transmitting part has fine cracks, making it translucent like ground glass. A beautiful finished product was obtained.

Place it on the work table of the gas laser processing machine,
Laser light irradiation was performed at an output of 200 W and a processing speed of 5 m/min. The heat-resistant paint was then removed in warm water, and the surface was further wiped with a cloth to finish.

In the resulting work, only the parts where the paint film was peeled off became carved grooves (8) as shown in Figure 5, resulting in a well-finished carved work.
