The basic idea of this known method is to bond a continuous elastic member to a continuous web constituting a continuous article by intermittently applying an adhesive to the continuous elastic member while it is being stretched, and to bond the continuous elastic member in a state where the adhesive has hardened. The purpose is to intermittently bond a predetermined length of elastic member to a continuous web by cutting at a non-coated area and contracting the non-coated area. However, in the case of a practical article 1, for example, a disposable diaper, the continuous elastic member is glued between the front and back continuous webs, and the 11u non-applied area is cut together with both continuous webs. In order to shrink the cut non-applied area as described above, it is necessary to provide an opening between the two webs of each cut diaper for the shrinkage of the non-applied area. It is not possible to seal the lengthwise ends. Therefore, there is a drawback that urine leaks from the opening.

However, especially when using a plurality of thin rubber threads as the elastic member, there are many problems in terms of high-speed processing of the elastic member during the process and, by extension, in terms of high-speed production of diapers.

The draft roll 6.6 has a predetermined peripheral speed higher than that of the rolls 5, 5, so that the elastic band 1 is stretched at a predetermined magnification.

The rubber thread 1a having a size of 6 n+m2 is temporarily joined (fused) in parallel in such a way that it can be easily separated with a slight tearing force to maintain a tape-like shape. The elastic band 1 is transferred to a separating means 8 via a guide roll 7.

It may also be something that intervenes. Incidentally, since such an elastic band 1 usually has talc powder attached to its surface,
Although not shown, it is removed during the process.

The elastic band is conveyed to a roll 11 serving as a bonding station with the spacing regulated by grooves 10, during which a hot-melt adhesive 13 is applied intermittently along the length of the elastic band by a coating means 12. On the other hand, the roll 11 is made of plastic film, nonwoven fabric, etc.
The continuous support tape 14, which has flexibility that does not interfere with the predetermined contraction force of the elastic band 1 and is substantially inelastic, and has a width slightly wider than the elastic band 1, is transferred under light tension so that no tearing force is applied to it. be done. Thus, the elastic band 1 is integrally glued to the support tape 14 with the adhesive 13 on the roll 11 .

That will happen. The tape-shaped continuous elastic member 17 composed of the thus cut elastic band 1 and the continuous support tape 14 is wound onto a take-up roll 18 with the first elastic band 1 facing inside.

If there is a risk of A, in order to prevent this, a method is generally adopted in which the +g adhesive 13 is forcedly or naturally cooled.
That is, the same effect can be obtained by applying water to the surface opposite to the contact surface of the elastic band 1 to form a water film.

They are placed facing the road. When subjected to ultrasonic action by an ultrasonic cutter, the elastic band 1 and the support tape 4 are softened. Therefore, the elastic band 1 in the stretched state will be cut due to its contractile force reaching the softening point, while the support tape 14 will be under slight tension as described above, and even if it softens, it will not. , a small portion of the tape, which remains in a softened state since tension is not concentrated at the softening point, and is cooled and hardened during transport after the ultrasonic cutter is deactivated.
