Conventionally, as a method for continuously attaching breakable members to disposable absorbent articles, for example,
The technology disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 26219 is known and practiced. The basic idea of this known method is that an adhesive is intermittently applied to a continuous breakable member while it is being stretched to adhere it to a continuous web constituting a continuous article, and a continuous elastic member is attached to a continuous elastic member in a state where the adhesive has hardened. The purpose of this method is to intermittently bond a predetermined length of elastic member to a continuous web by cutting at a non-adhesive area and contracting the non-adhesive area. However, in the case of a practical article, for example, a disposable diaper, the continuous elastic member is glued between the front and back continuous webs, and the non-adhesive part is cut together with both continuous webs. In order to shrink the non-applied area as described above, it is necessary to provide an opening between both webs of each cut diaper for the non-applied area to shrink. In other words, the length of each diaper is It is not possible to seal the end of the direction. Therefore, there is a drawback that urine leaks from the opening.

On the other hand, when thin rubber threads are used in a disposable diaper having an elastic member using the above-mentioned known method, there are many problems in terms of high-speed processing of the elastic member during the diaper manufacturing process, and furthermore, in terms of high-speed production of the diaper.

1 and 2, a continuous elastic band 1 is transferred from a box 2 to draft rolls 5, 5, 6, 6 via a guide ring 3, guide rolls 4, 4. The draft rolls 6, 6 have a predetermined peripheral speed higher than the rolls 5, 5, and therefore the elastic band 1 is stretched at a predetermined magnification. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the elastic band 1 has a cross-sectional area of 0.03 to 0.6 mm 2 as shown in FIG.
A plurality of rubber threads 1a are temporarily joined (fused) in parallel in such a way that they can be easily separated with a slight tearing force to maintain a tape-like shape. The loose elastic band 1 is transferred to a separating means 8 via a guide roll 7. Since the thread-like rubber 1a consisting of a plurality of thread-like rubber pieces 1a can be easily separated with a slight tearing force, the separating means 8 separates each thread-like rubber piece 1a by hand in advance and interposes a rod-like object between them. It's okay to be hot.
Incidentally, such elastic band 1 usually has talc powder attached to its surface, so it is removed during the process, although not shown.

The elastic band 1 that has been treated in this way is transferred to a roll 11 as a joining station with the spacing regulated by the grooves 10 of the guide roll 9, and in the meantime, the elastic band is intermittently coated in the length direction by the coating means 12. Hot melt type adhesive 1
3 is applied. On the other hand, the roll 11 is made of plastic film, non-woven fabric, etc., has flexibility that does not interfere with the predetermined contraction force of the elastic band 1, is substantially inelastic, and has a width slightly wider than that of the elastic band 1. The support tape 14 is transferred under light tension, with no tearing forces acting on it. Thus, on the roll 11 the elastic band 1 is integrally glued to the support tape 14 with the adhesive 13.

In this way, the elastic band 1 adhered to the support tape 14 is attached to the cutter 1 in the non-adhesive area 15.
6 and the uncoated area shrinks (see FIG. 4), so that it is placed intermittently on the support tape 14. The tape-shaped continuous composite member 17 composed of the thus cut elastic band 1 and the continuous support tape 14 is wound onto a take-up roll 18 with the elastic band 1 inside.

When the continuous composite member 17 is wound onto the take-up roll 18, the adhesive 13 that integrates the elastic band 1 and the support tape 14 and the surface of the support tape that is in opposing contact are bonded together, making it difficult to unwind during use. If there is a risk, in order to prevent this, a method is generally adopted in which the adhesive 13 is forcedly or naturally cooled. A similar effect can be obtained by applying water to the opposite side to form a water film.

The cutter 16 is preferably formed using ultrasonic waves, and in this case, the elastic band 1 (or each thread-like rubber when it is made of each thread-like rubber 1a)
The band is disposed with its output end having approximately the same width facing the running path of the band. When subjected to ultrasonic action by an ultrasonic cutter, the elastic band 1 and the support tape 14 are softened. Therefore, the elastic band 1 in the stretched state
is cut by concentrating its contractile force at the softening point, while the support tape 14 is under slight tension as described above, and even if it softens, it is only a small part of the tape, Since the tension force is not concentrated at the softening point, it remains in a softened state and is cooled and hardened during transport after the operation of the ultrasonic cutter is stopped.

When using a thin elastic band 1 such as the thread-like rubber 1a of the embodiment, the adhesive 13 may be applied so that the entire outer periphery of the elastic band 1 is covered with the adhesive 13, as shown in FIG. . Although it is preferable to apply the adhesive 13 directly to the elastic band 1, the adhesive 13 may alternatively be applied to the support tape 14 by the application means 19.
