Abstract

PURPOSE:To mold simply a hollow body without necessity of the conventional process of cutting open by a method in which one part of an insert is positioned in the cavity of a split mold and the insert is kept at the fitting part of the split mold and then rotational molding is achieved. CONSTITUTION:An insert 3 is kept at the fitting part 2b of a split mold at the state where the part 3a of the insert is positioned in the cavity 2a of the split mold 2. The paste or the powder of thermoplastic resin e.g. PVC paste is poured into the cavity and the split molds 1, 2 are clamped and heated with rotation, whereby the gelatinized PVC layer is molded on the inner surface of the cavity. The skin material 6 of a head rest with the insert 3 therein is obtained by mold release after cooling. By this method, the conventional process of cutting open for fitting the insert becomes unnecessary, and simultaneously liquid cushion raw material does not leak outside.

においては、インサートを挿入させるために表皮材を切
り開かねばならず、作業工数の増加になるとともに、イ
ンサート挿入用の切り開き部より合成樹脂発泡体原料が
漏出して外部にパリを形成するために、このパリ除去作
業及びパリ除去を容易とする為のl1li型剤塗布作業
が必要となり、合理的な方法ではなかった。更に、イン
サート挿入用の切り開き部が外観されるために美感にお
いても好ましいものではなかった。

の要旨とするところは、分割成形型内にインサートの一
部を位置させた状態で、該インサートを分割成形型の合
致部において保持し、回転成形を行なうことにある。

る構造である。又、インサー°トロは、ヘッドレストの
表皮材内に位置しヘッドレストを補強する部分6aと、
ヘッドレストを座席上部に支持するステ一部分6bとか
ら構成される。ヘッドレストの表皮材となる、内部にイ
ンサートを有する中空体は、分割成形型のキャビティ内
にインサートの一部6aを位置させた状態でインサート
6を分割成形型の合致部2bにおいて保持し、キャビテ
ィ内に熱可塑性合成樹脂ベーヌト又は粉体、たとえば塩
化ビニル樹脂ペースト4aを注入し、分割成形型を閉じ
、分割成形型を回転させながら加熱してキャビティ内面
にゲル化した塩化ビニル樹脂層を形成し、冷却後脱型す
ることによって得られる。尚、分割成形型はクフンブ5
によって閉型され、又、分割成形型の所定位置にはキャ
ビティ内において発生するガスを逃がすガス抜き穴(図
示せず)が穿設されている。このガス抜き穴は、表皮材
の製造後表皮材内にクッション材を連続して形成する際
に、クッション材形成ぶ料の注入口として使用すること
も可能である。

一方にインサート保持用の差し込み穴を設け、この差し
込み穴にインサートをセットする方法によれば、セット
に手間取る上に脱型が面倒となり、更にインサートの差
し込みの繰り返しにより差し込み穴が拡大し、インサー
トの固定が不確笑となるとともに、クッション材原料の
漏出を生じパリ除去工程の増加を生じることとなるが、
本発明は分割成形型の合致部においてインサートを保持
している為に前記の如く不都合を生じない。
