本発明はヘツドレスト等の表皮材として用いら
れる内部にインサートを有する中空体の製造方法

(従来技術の説明)
ヘツドレスト等の如く内部にインサートを有
し、外周が表皮材によつて覆われた製品の製造
は、従来より、袋状の表皮材を成形した後に、こ
の表皮材の一部を切り開き、かかる表皮材内にイ
ンサートを挿入し、表皮材の開口部よりポリウレ
タンフオーム等の合成樹脂発泡体原料を注入し、
表皮材内にクツシヨン材を発泡成形することによ
つて行なわれていた。しかしながら、このような
方法においては、インサートを挿入させるために
表皮材を切り開かねばならず、作業工数の増加に
なるとともに、インサート挿入用の切り開き部よ
り合成樹脂発泡体原料が漏出して外部にバリを形
成するために、このバリ除去作業及びバリ除去を
容易とする為の離型剤塗布作業が必要となり、合
理的な方法ではなかつた。更に、インサート挿入
用の切り開き部が外観されるために美感において

(発明の目的)
本発明は以上の点に鑑みてなされたもので、ヘ
ツドレスト等の表皮材として用いられている、内
部にインサートを有する中空体を合理的に製造す

(発明の構成)
本発明は、熱可塑性合成樹脂からなる中空体の
製造に多用されている、塩化ビニル樹脂ペースト
あるいは粉末ポリエチレン等を用いる回転成形法
を利用するもので、その要旨とするところは、分
割成形型内にインサートの一部を位置させた状態
で、該インサートを分割成形型の合致部において

発明の実施において用いる成形型は、上型1及び
下型2よりなる分割成形型であつて、閉型時に所
定のヘツドレストの表皮材形状を形成するキヤビ
テイ1a,2aを有し、上型1と下型2の合致部
2bにおいてインサート3を保持可能とする構造
である。又、インサート3は、ヘツドレストの表
皮材内に位置しヘツドレストを補強する部分3a
と、ヘツドレストを座席上部に支持するステー部
分3bとから構成される。ヘツドレストの表皮材
となる、内部にインサートを有する中空体は、分
割成形型のキヤビテイ内にインサートの一部3a
を位置させた状態でインサート3を分割成形型の
合致部2bにおいて保持し、キヤビテイ内に熱可
塑性合成樹脂ペースト又は粉体、たとえば塩化ビ
ニル樹旨ペースト4aを注入し、分割成形型を閉
じ、分割成形型を回転させながら加熱してキヤビ
テイ内面にゲル化した塩化ビニル樹脂層を形成
し、冷却後脱型することによつて得られる。尚、
分割成形型はクランプ5によつて閉型され、又、
分割成形型の所定位置にはキヤビテイ内において
発生するガスを逃がすガス抜き穴(図示せず)が
穿設されている。このガス抜き穴は、表皮材の製
造後表皮材内にクツシヨン材を連続して形成する
際に、クツシヨン材形成原料の注入口として使用

(発明の効果)
本発明は、前記の如く分割成形型のキヤビテイ
内にインサートの一部を位置させた状態で、該イ
ンサートを分割成形型の合致部において保持し、
回転成形を行なうものである。従つて得られた製
品は内部にインサートを有し、従来の製造方法に
おいて必要とされた、後工程によるインサート挿
入用の切き開き工程が不要となるとともに、切り
開き部が無い為に中空体内に液状のクツシヨン材
原料を注入しても外部に漏れることがない。更
に、インサートの保持を本発明と異なる方法、例
えば分割成形型の一方にインサート保持用の差し
込み穴を設け、この差し込み穴にインサートをセ
ツトする方法によれば、セツトに手間取る上に脱
型が面倒となり、更にインサートの差し込みの繰
り返しにより差し込み穴が拡大し、インサートの
固定が不確実となるとともに、クツシヨン材原料
の漏出を生じバリ除去工程の増加を生じることと
なるが、本発明は分割成形型の合致部においてイ
ンサートを保持している為に前記の如く不都合を
