Corner tiles bent into a chevron shape, like flat tiles, are made of powdered clay that is pressure-molded in a mold, but the density differs between the corners and the tip, and shrinkage that occurs during firing occurs. To avoid unevenness, which can lead to deformation and cracks, two tiles are generally made by pressure-molding powdered clay into a rectangular flat plate, then applying glaze and firing. After grinding to form a bonding surface, bonding the bonding surfaces using an inorganic adhesive with a melting point lower than that of the clay and glaze to join them in a chevron shape, the two sheets are fired at a temperature lower than the firing temperature. However, since the tiles are hard after firing, it is difficult to grind the joint surfaces, and the grinding wheel is severely worn out, resulting in high loss. In addition, since the adhesive force of the inorganic adhesive is weak, the bonding force between the bonded surfaces is small and there is a drawback that it is easily broken.

The object of the present invention is to eliminate such problems and to provide a method for manufacturing corner tiles that have strong bonding strength between joint surfaces, are easy to manufacture, and are easy to manufacture.

By filling powdered clay into a mold and applying pressure, the first
As shown in FIG. Then, the bonding surfaces 4.4 were formed by scraping at an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the plane, and a small amount of organic adhesive such as Arabic laver or french was mixed into the clay of the same type as the base material and dissolved in water. Apply slurry to the joint surfaces 4.4 to adhere them to each other, join the two flat plates 2.2 in a chevron shape at right angles as shown in Figure 3, let dry, and finish the joints with a wet wipe. After making corrections such as filling in or rounding the sharp corners, glaze is applied and fired, and as the flat plate 2.2 is fired, the bonding surfaces 4.4 will be glued together. The clay used melts and forms a joint surface 4.4.
are welded to each other, the flat plates 2.2 are joined together, and the joints at the joints are coated with glaze, resulting in a state similar to that of integral molding both in structure and appearance.

It is clear that by changing the angle at which the joint surfaces 4.4 are formed on the flat plates 2, 2, a chevron-shaped corner tile with an acute angle or an obtuse angle can be obtained.

Further, the joint surface 4 may be formed after the pressure-formed flat plate 2 is hardened to some extent by bisque firing. If this method is used, the flat plate 2 will be damaged during the grinding process of the joint surface 4. It has the advantage of being worry-free and improving work efficiency.

As specifically explained in the above embodiments, the method for manufacturing a corner tile of the present invention involves the production of two pieces of green base material made of powdered clay under pressure, or an unglazed base material made of bisque fired material. Three tangent surfaces are formed on each edge of the flat plate to form an oblique angle in line with the respective planes, and the joining surfaces are bonded together using clay mixed with an organic adhesive to form the two flat plates into a chevron-shaped cross section. The gist of this method is to bond them together by firing them and then firing them to form a bonded surface using force 'r. In addition to being easy to process and improving work efficiency, the joining surfaces are bonded together with clay and welded together, so the joining surfaces are firmly joined without any gaps between them, and are integrally molded. It has similar strength.

Furthermore, when applying a glaze and firing, the joint part is covered with the glaze without exposing the base material of the joint part as in conventional methods, resulting in excellent aesthetics and water resistance.
