Conventionally, weather seals (IJ) have been used to secure the front and rear window glasses of automobiles, and to keep the openings of doors and trunk lids watertight and airtight.
An example of this is shown in Figure 1. That is, the weather strip 1 includes a grooved welt 3 having an inverted U-shaped cross section and containing a core material 2, and a flange 5 extending from the body panel 4 in the groove of the grooved welt 3, which is disposed facing each other so that it can be held therein. Consisting of two pairs of flange retaining lips 6a, 6b and 7a, 7b, a single lip 8 formed on the upper surface of the grooved welt 3, and a drainage lip 9 formed on the body panel 4 side of the grooved welt 3, the door panel 10 and the body panel 4 can be brought into close contact with each other. Furthermore, in order to deal with the case where the sealing force of the draining lip 9 is weakened, a contrivance has been taken to increase watertightness by sealing a sealing agent 11 having adhesive properties such as butyl sealer inside the grooved welt 3.

That is, in this embodiment, on the inner surface of the inner panel 10a on the door side, which corresponds to the part that contacts the seal lip 8, a treatment layer 12 is provided by applying and baking a water-repellent surface treatment agent such as silicone oil or wax. It is. A similar treated layer 13 is also provided on the body panel 4 corresponding to the portion that contacts the draining lip 9, and two pairs of flange retaining lips 6a, 6 are further disposed facing each other inside the grooved welt 3. The treatment 1-14 is also provided on the flange 5 corresponding to the portion where the gases 7a and 7b come into contact. The treated layers 12, 13, and 14, which have been subjected to a water-repellent surface treatment, have the property that even if they fall down, they come into close contact with the weather strip and drain lip when the door is closed, thereby blocking the intrusion of rainwater and the like.

FIG. 4 shows a third embodiment of the present invention, in which a weather strip 23 having a hollow portion extending to a corner or a bent portion of an automobile door is bonded to a panel U on the door body side, and a weather strip 23 is attached to a panel U on the door body side. The weather strip 23 changes and comes into pressure contact with the door panel 25 as the door panel 25 is opened and closed. A treatment layer 26 coated with a water-repellent surface treatment agent and baked is provided on the surface side of the door panel 25 and in a portion that comes into contact with the weather strip 23. With this structure, the door panel 26 is coated and baked when the door is closed. The present invention can prevent rainwater etc. from entering through the close contact portion between the weather stripper 25 and the weather stripper. Further, FIG. 5 shows a fourth embodiment of the present invention, in which 27 is a welt attached to a flange 28 at the opening of the storage body, and a flange retaining lip 2 is provided on the inner facing surface of the welt 27.

31 is a core metal that serves both reinforcement and shaping, and welt 2
A seal lip 32 protruding from the side wall on the outside of the vehicle in a substantially dogleg shape is in contact with a mating panel such as the Winodogara 333 to seal the inside and outside of the vehicle interior. Depending on the mounting position of the welt 27 relative to the flange 28, the contact angle of the mating panel may differ, which may cause a seal failure when the window glass approaches from the position shown in the window glass 33 or 33a. be. However, by providing a treatment layer 34° 34 coated with a water-repellent surface treatment agent and baked on the surface of the windshield 33 or 33a and in the area that contacts the seal lip 32 as in the present invention, the risk of the seal failure described above is eliminated. . A similar treatment layer 38 is also formed on the surface of the flange 28 to prevent moisture from penetrating through the welt 27.

Next, the material and forming method of the treatment layer based on the water-repellent surface treatment agent employed in each of the above examples will be described. That is,
Silicone resin, commonly referred to as "silicone," has heat resistance, mold releasability, adhesiveness, and electrical insulation properties, so it is used as a covering material for various electronic components, and is also used as a coating material for various electronic components. Types that harden by irradiation are known.

The silicone adopted in the present invention is different from those mentioned above,
It is made of an organosiloxane composition containing silicon atoms and has the property of curing at room temperature or under heating. Moreover, when applied to other substances, in addition to the above-mentioned water-breaking properties, it also has excellent weather resistance, non-stick properties, and abrasion resistance, and also has the effect of improving slipperiness and preventing ``squeak''. The present invention is characterized in that a surface treatment agent having the above characteristics is applied and baked onto the panel surface that comes into contact with the weather strip. In addition, as other materials, it is also possible to apply various water-repellent waxes or to use a baking treatment.

On the other hand, the processing layer is not limited to a single layer, and may be formed as a processing layer having a double structure as shown in FIG. That is, in FIG. 6, reference numeral 35 indicates various panels on the vehicle body side, and on the panel 35, the water-repellent surface treatment agent that has been coated and baked as described above is merely coated on the surface of the treated layer 36. Treated layers 37 that are not subjected to baking treatment are formed so as to overlap each other. In such a configuration, when the IJ knob is pressed and comes into contact with the treated layer 37, the water-repellent surface treatment agent applied on the treated layer 37 migrates and adheres to the counterpart member. As a result,
The synergistic effect can further improve water repellency, increase the abrasion resistance of the mating member, and further eliminate the "squeak" that tends to occur during contact.

As explained in detail above, the present invention provides a weather strip that is interposed between a body panel and a window panel that constitute a vehicle, between a pawl body panel and a panel that constitutes a trunk lid, or between a pawl body panel and a door panel, etc. In this configuration, water-testable surface treatment is applied to the surfaces of the wind panel, heavy body panel, and door panel corresponding to the dB level that contacts the weather strip, thereby improving waterproof properties. Since no special sealing material such as a sealer is required]7, it has the advantage of being able to reduce costs, and is useful when applied to each vehicle.
