Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 本案は表示が見やすく廉価な発光ダイオード表示器に関
する。
従来、第１図に示すような、発光ダイオード１４．１４
・・・を所望の形状に配置し、発光ダイオード１４，１
４・・・の点灯状態を直接目視させて表示を行なう、い
わゆる直視型の発光ダイオード表示器に於ては、断面コ
字状の着色透明な外被ケース１６の内壁で発光ダイオー
ド１４の光（１）が反射し、あたかもそこに発光ダイオ
ードがあるかの如くに見える事があり、特にドツトマト
リックス表示では誤読の原因となるので不都合である。
これを防ぐために外被ケース１６の高さを低くしたり光
の透過率を変えたりする事が考えられたが、発光ダイオ
ード１４，１４・・・に配線を施こす金属細線１５に触
れないようにするため外被ケース１６の高さを低くする
のに限度があり又、透明すぎると表示のコントラストが
低下したり電極１２のような表示に関係しないものまで
よく見えるし、不透明すぎると表示輝度が得られないと
いう理由から、充分な改善に至らなかった。
本案はこのような欠点をなくするために行なわれたもの
であり、以下本案を詳細に説明する。
第２図は本案実施例を示す発光ダイオード表示器の断面
図で、１はセラミック、エポキシ等からなる基板で、表
面に焼付電極やプリントパターンのような電極２，２・
・・を有しており、好ましくは発光ダイオードを囲む遮
光壁３，３・・・を具備している。
４，４・・・はＧａＰ等の発光ダイオードで、基板１の
略中央部、電極２，２・・・の上に所望配列をなして取
りつけられている。
５は発光ダイオード４．４・・・に配線を施こす金属細
線である。
６は断面コ字状をなす着色透明又は半透明な樹脂成型品
からなるケースで、その垂部の内壁７，７は基板１側に
向けて傾斜している。
本案はこのような構造であるから、発光ダイオードから
出た光（１１）はほとんどケース６の内部に反射され従
来のように発光ダイオードがあるかの如くには見えない
。
尚、垂部のある部分は、表示面からみると肉厚部となる
ので、ここだけ色が濃くみえる。
又発光ダイオードから出た光はごくわずかだがケース６
を透過してケース６の周縁部に集まる。
従って装飾性を兼ねて周縁部にシボ加工８，８を施すと
、色の濃さも目立たないし、集まった光も散らすので極
めて好ましい。
以上の如く本案は、基板と、該基板の略中央部に取着さ
れた複数の発光ダイオードと、基板表面を覆い、垂部の
内壁が基板側に向けて傾斜すると共にその垂部のある表
面周縁部にシボ加工を有した断面コ字状の着色透明又は
半透明なケースとを具備するものであるから、誤読の原
因となる反射がないうえ表示面周縁に表示光と関係しな
い装飾枠があるので表示がみやすく、構造簡単なために
廉価な発光ダイオード表示器が提供できる。

  1. 基板と、該基板の略中央部に取着された複数の発光ダイ
    オードと、基板表面を覆い垂部の内壁が基板側に傾斜す
    ると共にその垂部のある表面周縁部にシボ加工を有した
    断面コ字状の着色透明又は半透明なケースとを具備した
    発光ダイオード表示器。
