Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a VTR cylinder which ensures the stable drive of a VTR tape as well as an easy production by using resin having a specific heat expansion coefficient to the cylinder main body and resin having a specific low coefficient of friction to the tape driving surface of the cylinder main body respectively. CONSTITUTION:An annular molded body of resin mixed with carbon and having a 0.15-0.25 coefficient of friction is put into a metallic mold of an injection molder for the outer circumferential part A of a VTR cylinder. An ordinary resin, e.g., phenolic resin, etc. having a 2X10<-5>-2.5X10<-5>/ deg.C coefficient of heat expansion and mixed with carbon is injected into the metallic mold. Then a cylinder main body 1 is molded by injection. The molded cylinder main body 1 is taken out, and a tape driving surface 2 and a lead part 3 are fabricated. Then the surface 2 is polished to <=2mu roughness. Thus the tape injury is reduced and triboelectrification is prevented for a VTR cylinder with no surface defect.
