The present invention was developed in view of this problem, and is a device in which synthetic fiber tow is placed on a conveyor, transferred to a horizontal heat treatment machine body having a number of divided heating chambers, and heated with a hot air flow. In this method, a flapper that can swing freely in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor is attached to the partition plate that partitions the heating chamber, and a tip part of the lower partition plate is curved in the direction of movement of the conveyor in correspondence with the flapper. This is characterized in that a flapper equipped with a weight that applies rotational force in the opposite direction is swingably provided in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor to close the gap formed between the conveyor and the partition plate.

以下、本考案を図面に基づいて説明する。Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained based on the drawings.

In the apparatus having such a configuration, the tow T is continuously loaded in a forest shape onto the conveyor 11 by a chute (not shown), and is transferred to the dryer main body 15 where a predetermined heat treatment is performed. Upper and lower flappers 18, 21 are provided in the section, so that a sufficient heat seal is achieved and heat loss is reduced.

That is, the upper flapper 18 is connected to the forest tow T and the partition plate 1.
Since it hangs down swingably so as to close the gap S between it and 6a, leakage of hot air from this gap is almost prevented.

As explained above, according to the present invention, since a flapper that can swing freely in the direction of movement of the conveyor is provided along the partition plate of the heating chamber, it is possible to almost completely close the gap between the conveyor and the partition plate. This makes it possible to almost completely prevent hot air or outside air from flowing in and out, thereby greatly reducing heat loss and allowing the tow to be heat-treated quickly and stably.
