Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a low-cost corrosion-resistant tape which is easy to apply and has an excellent corrosion preventive effect, prepd. by applying an electrically conductive adhesive to the back side of a tape or a strip consisting of a material which is electrochemically baser than a metal object to be finished, with some areas left uncoated. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive 2 is applied to the back side of a tape or a strip 1 consisting of a metal which is electrochemically baser than a metal object to be finished (e.g. Zn, Al or Mg when the metal material is made of iron or steel) with areas 3 left uncoated. The tape may be backed with a protective layer 4 such as silicone-finished paper or discharge-finished polyethylene resin film and may be wound up into a roll. For application, a proper length of the tape is drawn from the roll and cut with scissors, etc. and the cut piece is wound round an object followed by soft pressing.

Generally, as a method for preventing corrosion of metal members, a cathodic protection method is known in which a metal is brought into electrical contact with the object to be protected, which is a metal member, electrochemically and used as a sacrificial anode. . These cathodic protection methods, particularly the method using a tape-shaped sacrificial anode, are relatively simple to implement and have excellent corrosion protection effects, so they are widely practiced as a means of corrosion protection. As an anticorrosion anode tape using the cathodic protection method, a method is known in which a tape-shaped galvanic anode is directly wound around the object to be protected so as to be in contact with the object, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 56-156780. but.

In this method, a thin plate-shaped galvanic anode is soot welded to the object to be protected, or a wire is welded to the side edge of the tape and the other end of the wire is fixed to the object to be protected by welding. This is because it requires means. Furthermore, it has been proposed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 16854/1983 to use a conductive adhesive to fix a tape-shaped sacrificial anode to the object to be protected, but the conductive adhesive is expensive and requires a large amount of use. However, it is not suitable as a sacrificial anode for use as a sacrificial anode, but it also has the problem that the metal particles, which are usually mixed in to provide conductivity, oxidize over time and the conductivity deteriorates.

As a result of various studies to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present inventors found that it is not necessary for the tape to contact the object to be protected against corrosion over the entire surface.
Even if it is a point contact, the anticorrosion effect works effectively as long as the contact area is secured. If the adhesive is not applied to the entire back surface of the tape, but some areas are left uncoated, this uncoated area will enable contact between the tape and the object to be protected, and electrical contact will be maintained over time. As long as the adhesive does not deteriorate in the burial mound, it will not deteriorate easily and its anticorrosion effect will continue to work effectively over a long period of time. The present invention has obtained extremely useful knowledge that overcomes the blind spot of the conventional technology. It is based on

The anticorrosion tape used in the present invention is made of a metal that is electrochemically less noble than the object to be protected in order to provide cathodic protection. Therefore, as a typical example, when the object to be protected is steel or the like, it is formed of Zn, AI, Mf, etc., or an alloy of these metals. The thickness of these tapes or strips is set to a certain degree of flexibility so that when the tape or strip is attached to the object to be protected from corrosion, the unpainted part of the adhesive on the tape can come into contact with the object to be protected by applying light pressure from the surface. for which the tape or strip preferably has a 0.
3- or less. Further, from the viewpoint of the lifespan of the anti-corrosion tape, the thickness is desirably 10 μm or more. The thickness Fi of the tape or strip is preferably 20 pg to 0.15 m.

The adhesive applied to the back side of the tape or strip does not need to be a conductive adhesive, and can be selected from inexpensive adhesives such as ordinary Acrylic IJ adhesives, or a mixture of these and chlorinated rubber may also be used. 1 It is obvious that these adhesives also pose problems in terms of weather resistance.

#! Figure 1 shows an example of the anticorrosive tape according to the present invention, in which a portion of the coating is left on the back side of the tape or strip 1.
The adhesive 2 is applied so as to have the following properties. In the case of the anti-corrosion tape shown in Figure #I1, the remaining part 3 of the adhesive 2
Although a plurality of stripes extending parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction of the tape 1 are shown as an example, the uncoated portion 3 is not limited to a stripe shape, but may have any shape such as a spot shape. However, an increase in the area of the uncoated portion 30 leads to a decrease in the area of adhesive 2 applied and a decrease in adhesion strength.
It is desirable that the total area of the area is less than go1. Note that the appropriate thickness of the adhesive 2 is about 10 to 5 opWL.

Figure 2 is a book showing a state in which a silicone-treated paper or a polyethylene resin film is wrapped around the back side of a front anticorrosive tape in a roll shape through an electrical discharge machined adhesive protective layer 4. . In addition, such adhesive protection 7
14, this adhesive protective layer 4 is formed into a tape or strip and passed through the aforementioned adhesive application box, and then the tape or strip 1 is applied to the adhesive protective layer 4 coated with this adhesive. From the above, it will be readily understood that in the present invention, applying a tape or strip IK adhesive includes not only direct application of the adhesive but also indirect application.

When applying it to the back, pull out an appropriate length of anti-corrosion tape in a roll as shown in Figure 2.
After cutting (with scissors), the adhesive retaining layer 4 on the back side is peeled off, and it is applied by pasting or wrapping it around an appropriate location on the object to be protected and pressing lightly from above. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 3, an anticorrosive tape may be placed between the 0 channels and tightened with a nut. In this way, the anti-corrosion tape will always come into contact with the C channels on both sides at a portion, and electrical continuity will be established.

As described above, according to the anti-corrosion tape of the present invention, since the adhesive is applied to the back side of the tape or strip so that some parts remain uncoated, the anti-corrosion tape of H is applied onto the object to be protected. By applying light pressure to adhere the adhesive, the uncoated portion of the adhesive will come into direct contact with the object to be protected, creating electrical continuity.
It does not require the use of conventional conductive adhesives that are expensive and can deteriorate over time; it is inexpensive and extremely easy to handle, and the anti-corrosion effect is ensured over a long period of time. . Furthermore, by wrapping the anticorrosion tape of the present invention around metal plates, stakes, etc., it is possible to expect not only a cathodic protection effect but also a coating anticorrosion effect.
