Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain wax which has a good sliding performance and allows waxing to be easily conducted, by incorporating gallium in wax. CONSTITUTION:Gallium is incorporated in wax. Gallium alone has an excellent effect. However, when gallium is alloyed with indium, zinc, tin or aluminum, the coated metal lasts long and the wax is easy to handle even when the melting point is lowered. Further, frictional resistance on a snowed surface can be reduced and speed-up can be made. Gallium is soft and gloss at a low temp. and can be easily processed. Accordingly, when it is incorporated in wax, the wax can be applied easily and uniformly without damage to sliding surfaces. Gallium applied to the sliding surface is hardened in a low-temperature atmosphere such as on the snowed surface, and the wax lasts longer than paraffin wax and is effective in such a low-temperature atmosphere.

Conventionally, ski waxes have been mixed with various paraffins depending on the air temperature and snow temperature, and many conditions have been taken into account when using them, and even ski manufacturers have had their say when it comes to selecting ski waxes for ski competitions. It is even said that the battle lies in the wax,
The reality is that there are many difficulties right before the start.

The present invention solves these problems and provides an excellent wax that is easy to wax and has good sliding performance, and particularly relates to a metal wax for sliding that is characterized by containing gallium.

以下、本発明に係るワックスについて詳細に説明する。Hereinafter, the wax according to the present invention will be explained in detail.

Metal Ga has a melting point of 29.8±1℃ and a density of 5.91g/cc.
It has a thermal conductivity of 0.28 to 0.38 (30'O), is soft and shiny at low temperatures, is easy to process, and can be molded into various shapes. Therefore, even when used as a wax, it can be applied easily and evenly without damaging the sliding surface. When it is cold, it can be applied with a cloth or sponge by simply soaking it in warm water, and it is ductile, so the amount used is small. is sufficient. Furthermore, the metallic Ga applied to the sliding surface becomes hard at low temperatures such as on snowy surfaces, and lasts longer than paraffin wax, making it more effective.

Furthermore, performance not seen in all-purpose waxes has been demonstrated for various types of snow, such as fresh snow, grainy snow, wet snow, and icy snow.

In this way, the effect of metal Ga alone is outstanding, but by alloying a certain proportion of metals such as In, Zn, Sn, and AI, the applied metal will last longer and its melting point will be lowered. It is easy to handle, reduces frictional resistance on the snow surface, increases speed, and has sufficient commercial value in terms of cost.

When mixing other metals based on Ga, at least 60% -F is required for a binary system, and 30% or more of Ga is required for a ternary system. Furthermore, the Zn formulation is very effective when the air temperature and snow temperature are high.

On the other hand, in terms of compatibility with gliding surfaces, commercially available waxes need to be applied using a burner or trowel, then scraped and reapplied repeatedly, which requires a lot of effort, but the wax in the present invention can be applied by hand. By applying it warm and then spreading it with gauze or a sponge, you can coat the sliding surface evenly and greatly shorten the application time.
