Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ski wax capable of markedly improving the sliding properties of a ski over other fluorine compd. by using a specific perfluoroalkyl iodide. SOLUTION: This ski wax is at least one 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluoroalkyl iodide of the formula (n is 8 to 14), or a compsn. contg. the same. A compd. of the formula can be obtd. by reacting an industrially used perfluoroalkyl iodide with ethylene. Among those compds. of the formula, 10-16C compds. can be used as a ski wax. Lower than 10C compds. are liq. at ordinary temp. unsuitably while higher than 16C compds. are higher than 150 deg.C in m.p unsuitably. When the above compd. is used, the sliding properties of a ski can be markedly improved. This is believed to be because this compd. has ethylene atomic groups to increase the affinity thereof for a paraffin wax as a base wax, whereby the spreadability thereof can be improved.

とは知られている。このことからフッ素化合物のスキー
用ワックスへの応用が考えられ市販されるようになっ
た。このフッ素系スキー用ワックスは非フッ素系ワック
スと比べ滑走性が数段よく、現在注目されている。しか
し、この分野ではさらに滑走性のよいワックスが要望さ
れており、本発明者らは既にスキー用ワックスとしてパ
ーフルオロアルキルヨージド類の利用を提案した(特願
平6−163629号)。ところで、フッ素系スキー用ワック
スの場合、通常ベースワックスとして予めパラフィン系
ワックスを塗布する。しかし、パーフルオロアルキルヨ
ージド類はこのパラフィン系ワックスとの親和性に若干
問題があり均一な塗布が難しかった。そこで、よりパラ
フィン系ワックスとの親和性のよいものを開発すれば、
滑走性が更に上がるものと考えられた。

速度を測定することにより試験した結果、著しく良好な
効果を示した。本発明は、構造式 CnF2n+1CH2CH2I (n は8〜14の整数) で表される1H,1H,2H,2H −パーフルオロアルキルヨージ
ド類の1種または2種以上もしくはこれらを含有する組
成物からなるスキー用ワックスを提供するものである。

する。本発明で用いる1H,1H,2H,2H −パーフルオロアル
キルヨージド類は、工業的に利用されているパーフルオ
ロアルキルヨージド類をエチレンと反応させることによ
り合成でき〔たとえば、J.Chem.Soc.,2856(1949)〕、
又、1H,1H,2H,2H −パーフルオロアルキルヨージド類自
体も工業的に製造されている。スキー用ワックスの物性
として、塗布するときの操作性から融点が 150℃以下の
固体が望ましい。従って、1H,1H,2H,2H −パーフルオロ
アルキルヨージド類のうち、スキー用ワックスとして利
用されるのは炭素数が10〜16のものである。すなわち、
炭素数10未満のものを使用した場合、常温で液体であ
り、16より大きいものを使用した場合は融点が 150℃よ
り高くなる。スキー板に塗布する方法としては、ベース
ワックスを塗布後、1H,1H,2H,2H−パーフルオロアル
キルヨージド類の粉末をスキー板1枚に対し 0.5g程度
振りかけておいてアイロンで融かしながら伸ばして塗布
するいわゆるホットワクシング法か、1H,1H,2H,2H −
パーフルオロアルキルヨージドをパラフィンワックス等
の他の物質と混ぜペースト状とし、布のようなもので伸
ばして塗布し、その状態で使用するいわゆる生塗り法、
の処理の後、アイロンかけをするホットワクシング
法等がある。尚、本発明のスキー用ワックスは、スキー
板に限らず、スノーボード、プラスチック製ソリ等にも
適用され、同様の効果が得られるのは勿論である。
