PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a casting by opening the other end of a plunger sleeve having an injection plunger at one end into a cavity and filling a molten metal from a holding furnace into a plunger sleeve by an electromagnetic pump in a way as to avoid intrusion of air into the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A cavity 14 is formed of a stationary die 11 and a moving die 15 and one end of a plunger sleeve 29 having an injection plunger 30 is opened into the cavity 14. When an electromagnetic pump 24 is operated after the dies 11, 15 are brought into tight contact with each other, a molten metal 21 is poured from a holding furnace 22 via a tapping pipe 23 and nozzles 25-27 into the sleeve 29. Since the cavity 14 communicates with the atm., the molten metal 21 fills the inside of the sleeve 29 without contg. air.
