Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a dry ice product having high surface hardness, resistant to sublimation, and suitable for dry ice blast, etc., by humidifying dry ice particles prepared by the compression molding of snow dry ice. CONSTITUTION:Carbon dioxide gas is compressed at a low temperatura, and the obtained liquid carbon dioxide is subjected to the adiabatic expansion to obtain snow dri ice. The snow dry ice is pressed under about <=100kg/cm<2>.G pressure for about 10sec to obtain a block (or plate) dry ice. The obtained dry ice is crushed and pulverized and humidified with about 0.1-5% water e.g. by spraying. The temperature and time for humidification are about 18 deg.C and about 15min, respectively.

Therefore, since the main purpose of conventional dry ice is cooling, hardness has not been a problem, so it is relatively brittle, easily combusts, and has a short lifespan.

When the temperature exceeds 80°C, the consumption of yr1° becomes intense, (u) it is brittle and easily becomes powder, and the yield of granular dry ice used for cleaning is low and the cost is high; (g) the dry ice charge is Because it is relatively soft, its cleaning effect cannot be said to be sufficient, and 6Xil dry ice particles can be used for cleaning work 1.

The present invention hardens the surface of dry ice particles, makes them last longer, increases the yield of granular dry ice when used as an abrasive, and suppresses sublimation to maintain good visibility. The purpose of this is to improve workability and improve the cleaning effect.

For the purpose mentioned above, the present inventors have conducted extensive research to increase the hardness of dry ice particles. ], the surface (the part exposed to the air) becomes transparent and hard, but the inside that is exposed to the air is white and opaque, and when regular dry ice is broken, the inside is filled with dry ice powder and is extremely brittle. They found that this is the case, and completed the present invention.

The dry ice particles to be used may be those produced by using a block-like foot-shaped dry ice manufactured by a conventional method and finely milled to the required size (0.5 to 30 mm) using a crusher or a cutter. , or tri-ice pelletized in a conventional manner may be used in the 11:j ratio. In this case, the miniaturization process is not necessary.

Humidification can be done by exposing dry ice particles to humid air, by spraying air onto water 1 using a steam spray, by adding mist water using a humidifier, or by mixing these together. May be brought into contact with moisture. The rate of humidification is 0.1 to 5% relative to dry ice, which is excessive.
