Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of a heating means or damage of a filter, by forming a passage between grates of a grate-like filter in the manner of extending perpendicularly to the grates, and utilizing the above passage as a heated-air passage. CONSTITUTION:The body 4a of a filter is made of a porous filtering material 4c for capturing suspended matter, and heating passages 4e are formed between an exhaust-gas inlet passage 4b and an outlet passage 4d for discharging purified exhaust gas, in the manner of extending perpendicularly to the passages 4b, 4d. A heating means is connected to the heating passages for passing heat produced by the heating means through the heating passages 4e and removing diesel particulates by way of incineration. Thus, since the heating means is not communicated with the exhaust-gas passages, it is enabled to prevent deterioration of the heating means due to diesel particulates accumulated in the heating means and resultant damage of the filter.

In the above-mentioned conventional device, diesel/mother ticulate, which is an incompletely combusted component discharged from the engine 1, becomes suspended matter in the exhaust gas and is captured by the filter 4 via the idazost manifold 2 and the connecting pipe 3. Only some of the diesel 7 ticulates and exhaust gas that cannot be collected are released into the atmosphere from the exhaust pipe 5. As the amount of collected diesel fuel increases, the exhaust pressure increases, and the pressure sensor 6 detects this and operates.

At the same time, the controller 7 operates the heating device 9 based on signals such as the exhaust temperature and throttle opening detected by the temperature sensor 8, and the heat from the heating device 9 is transferred to the filter 4 through the connecting pipe 3.
In addition, the diesel nozzle ticulate deposited on the filter 4 is incinerated and removed. As this incineration progresses, the pressure of the exhaust gas decreases, so the pressure sensor 6 stops operating, and the heating device 9 stops depending on conditions such as temperature and throttle opening.

However, in the above-described conventional particulate purification device, since the heating station 9 is located upstream of the filter 4, the accumulation of diesel particulates reaches the heating device 9, which prevents the heating device 9 from working. The exhaust pressure of the engine 1 increased, causing problems such as a decrease in the output of the engine 1 and damage to the filter 4.

The present invention has been made in order to eliminate the above-mentioned conventional defects.Another passage is provided perpendicularly between the lattices of the lattice-shaped filter, and this part is used as a hot air passage, and a heating device is installed upstream of the filter. It is an object of the present invention to provide a diesel particulate purification device that does not cause problems in exhaust gas by heating and removing diesel particulates without being located.
