Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust easily a tuning characteristic of a high frequency amplification part by controlling variably a tuning element of a selective amplifier in the high frequency amplification part by using a microcomputer so that the intensity of an IF signal is maximized. CONSTITUTION:A broadcasting signal intensity level output 4 is taken out to an A/D converter 5 through the high frequency amplification part 1, a frequency conversion part 2 and an IF amplification part 3 which are constitutional elements of a synthesizer tuner. The output of the A/D converter 5 is sent to the microcomputer 6, the output of the computer 6 is D/A converted by a D/A converter 7 and the analog signal is supplied to the amplification part 1 as a varicap control voltage 8. At that time, the voltage 8 is set up to an initial value and the broadcasting signal intensity is read out by the converter 5 and stored in the computer 6. Subsequently, the voltage 8 is change and the broadcasting signal intensity at that time is read out by the converter 5 and compared with the preceding intensity by the computer 6. If the read out value is larger than the preceding value, the current value is stored, and if smaller, the operation is stopped at that time. Thus, the varicap control voltage is set up to the maximum point of the radio broadcasting signal intensity by repeating said operation.

The tuning characteristics of the selective amplifier in the high-frequency amplification section of these synthesizer tuners are obtained by a coil and a varicap. Conventionally, the control voltage of this varicap is controlled by a local oscillation circuit used to lower the high-frequency signal to an intermediate frequency. The low-pass filter output of the PLL (phase locked loop) section, that is, the local oscillation frequency control voltage, was used as is.

Therefore, it was necessary to perform tracking adjustment to adjust the tuning characteristics of the high-frequency amplification section during the manufacturing stage so that the intermediate frequency, local oscillation frequency, and tuning frequency of the high-frequency amplification section always have a constant relationship.

(Structure of the Invention) The present invention includes an A/D converter that converts the broadcast signal strength level output of a synthesizer tuner using a microcomputer into a digital signal, and a varicap of a selective amplifier of a high frequency amplification section that converts the digital output of the microcomputer into a digital signal. This circuit is equipped with a D/A converter that converts it into a control voltage, and uses a high-speed computer to read the broadcast signal strength while gradually changing the varicap control voltage of the selective amplifier. This is to set the cap control voltage.

Next, after changing the varicap control voltage 8, the A/D converter 5 is used to read the broadcast signal strength at that time, and the microcomputer 6 compares it with the previous broadcast signal strength. If the value is larger, it is stored in memory, and if it is smaller, it is terminated at that point. This is repeated to set the varicap control voltage at the point where the broadcast signal strength is maximum.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the present invention, since the tuner itself adjusts the high frequency amplification section, there is no need to make these adjustments at the manufacturing stage, and it is possible to reduce manufacturing costs. Further, according to the present invention, since the high-frequency amplifying section is adjusted every time the tuner receives a signal, it can be expected that deviations in tuning characteristics due to aging of components or temperature changes can be corrected.
