Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve measuring accuracy, by providing smoothing plates, which always smooth the surface of a bulk material to be measured to a constant level, over a conveyer so that the plates can be lifted and lowered, and providing a moisture meter, which has a purging and dust collecting mechanism for preventing the intrusion of dust and steam. CONSTITUTION:A bulk material 10 on a conveyer belt 1 is slowly lowered to an intended level by the following ways: the heights of #1-#3 smoothing plates 2-4 and a #4 smoothing plate 5 that is also a dust collecting hood are adjusted by smoothing-plate lifting type supporting mechanism 15 and a total-plates lifting type supporting mechanism 16 in correspondence with the magnitude of the amount of transportation. A transmitter 6 of a moisture meter is enclosed by an air purging tube 8, so that the intrusion of dust and vapor into the part between the transmitter 6 and the bulk material 10 is prevented. The amount of purge is adjusted by an adjusting valve 9, which is provided in an air feeding pipe 17. The dust collecting hood of the smoothing plate 5 is connected to a dust collecting blower 14, and the dust including part of the dust yielded by the air purging is collected.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, the moisture content of powder and granular materials on a conveyor has been measured off-line by a drying method after sampling from the conveyor during transport. This measurement method has the disadvantage that it is not possible to directly and continuously measure moisture on the conveyor, and the measurement requires time.

The powder and granular material 10 on the conveyor belt 1 is leveled with 51 stages of #4 leveling plates when the transport volume is small, and when the transport volume is large, the level is made uniform by several stages (determined by the width of MIN - MAX). However, in this example, four levels of leveling plates 2 to 5 were installed, and the number of leveling plates to be used was determined according to the conveyance amount. below)
Minimize the generation of dust and steam when leveling the powder surface. The height of each of the leveling plates 2 to 5 is adjusted to the optimum point that matches the measurement conditions by means of an elevating support mechanism 15, 16 for adjusting the height of each plate and the entire plate.
