Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a leak and to achieve leak prevention of a tank when the damage of a lining is generated, by a method wherein electrode layers are provided between an insulating layer weak to a received liquid and a lining layer strong thereto provided to the outer surface of the tank and voltage is applied between electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A lining 3 strong to a received liquid is provided to the outer surface of a tank similarily to the inner surface thereof and an electrode layer 4 and an insulating layer 5 are provided between the outer surface lining 3 and the tank main body 1. The electrode layer may have such a system that voltage is applied to alternately arranged electrodes or voltage is applied between the tank main body 1 and the electrode layer 4. When the lining is not damaged, a current is not flowed between the electrodes. When damage is generated and the liquid is penetrated into the tank main body 1, the tank 1 receives damage due to corrosion and the liquid reaches the insulating layer 5. When the insulating layer 5 is formed of a material weak to the received liquid, said liquid rapidly reaches the electrode layer 4. Because a current is flowed between the electrodes at this time, a leak can be detected. The received liquid passes the electrode layer 4 and reaches the outer surface lining 3 but a material strong to the received liquid is selected as the outer surface lining to make it possible to prevent the leak.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Field of Application of the Invention] The present invention relates to a lined tank in which a lining is constructed on the inner surface of a steel tank, and particularly to a tank that stores a highly corrosive liquid with high electrical conductivity. The present invention relates to a suitable lining leak detection device.

Conventionally, there was no appropriate leak detection method for lined tanks, and the tank was opened during lining construction and periodically to conduct pinhole inspections, visual inspections, etc. of the lining. For this reason, if the lining is damaged during operation, the liquid will penetrate into the tank body, corrode the tank, and leak the built-in liquid. Also, the tank must be opened and the lining inspected every short period of time. There was a drawback that it had to be done.

When storing highly corrosive liquids, containers with internal linings that are resistant to internal liquids are used. If an appropriate lining is selected, the lining can be used for a long period of time, but if pinholes or peeling of the lining occur locally, the steel tank body will corrode in a short period of time, causing liquid leakage.

In the present invention, if the lining is damaged and the main body is corroded, a lining that is resistant to internal liquid is installed on the outer surface of the tank to prevent leakage, and an electrode layer is installed between the link and the outer lining layer. It is used to detect leaks. An insulating layer that is weak against the built-in fluid is provided between the electrode layer and the tank body, so that if the built-in fluid leaks from the tank body, the leak can be easily detected.

A lining 2 strong against the built-in liquid is provided on the inner surface of the steel tank 1 to protect the tank. The outer surface of the tank is provided with a lining 3 that is resistant to the built-in liquid like the inner surface, and an electrode layer 4 and an insulating layer 5 are provided between the outer lining 3 and the tank body 10.
has been established. The electrode layer may be one in which electrodes 6 are arranged alternately and a voltage is applied as shown in FIG. 2, or one in which a voltage is applied between the tank body 1 and the electrode layer 40.

If damage occurs to the lining and liquid penetrates into the tank body, the tank 1 will be damaged by corrosion and the liquid will reach the insulating layer 5. If a material that is weak against the built-in fluid is selected for the insulating layer 5, the liquid will quickly reach the electrode layer 4. At this time, a current flows between the electrodes, so leakage can be detected by detecting this current change.

The built-in fluid passes through the electrode layer 4 and reaches the outer lining layer 3, but by selecting a material for the outer lining that is strong against the built-in fluid, leakage to the outside of the tank can be prevented.
