Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily cut off the residual portion of a gate as well as make the sealing property of a weather strip better by a method in which a gate is set at the cushion lip corner of a gasket type weather strip, and the base of the gate residual portion is throttled so as to form an indent near the peripheral side of the base. CONSTITUTION:An injection gate 7 is set at the corresponding portion of the base corner C of a cushion lip 6, and the gate residual portion 7a is integrally formed at the base corner C. An indent 8 is formed near the base of the residual portion 7a. A contracted portion 9 is formed on the base of the gate residual portion 7a in such a way as to house the contracted portion 9 within the depth (h) of the indent 8. The gate residual portion 7a can be easily cut off from the contracted portion 9 only by pulling the gate residual portion 7a, and since the leftover of cutting is smaller than the depth (h) of the indent 8, the leftover can be housed inside the indent 8 and no interruption with sealing occurs.

一段低くなるように窪ませるとともに、ゲート残余部が
容易に切離し得るように該ゲート残余部の基部に狭窄部
を形成したことを特徴としている。

ート残余部7aをカットする際に第8図に示すように切
り残し部7bが発生したとしても、前記の狭窄部9が凹
陥部8の深さh 範曲内に収まるように設定されている
ことから、切り残し部7bの頂部がクッションリップ6
の外表面より突出するようなことはなく、たとえ若干の
切り残し部7bが存在したとしてもこれがウェザ−スト
リップ本来のシール性能に何ら影響を及ぼすものではな
い。

余部の基部に狭窄部を形成しまたことにより、ゲート残
余部のカットにあたって単に該ゲート残余部を引っ張る
のみで足りることから、そのカット作業がきわめて容易
になるほか、カット状態のばらつきを解消して均一化を
図ることができる。加えて本発明によれば、ゲート残余
部のカットにあたって若干の切り残しがあったとしても
、狭窄部そのものが窪んだ凹陥部内に収まるように設定
されているために前記の切り残し部がクッションリップ
の外表面より突出するようなことはなく、それによって
ゲート残余部の切り残しを原因とするシール不良ひいて
は水洩れを未然に防止できる効果がある。
