[Detailed description of the invention] This invention relates to a laminate that has good shape retention and excellent cushioning properties. The so-called air cap sheet, which has a large number of independent air chambers, is used for packaging. It is widely used as a cushioning material, etc., but since only flexible materials such as polyethylene films or sheets are used, it is easy to wrap around the packaged item, but it has low rigidity and is not self-supporting. Although it is suitable for simple cushioning purposes for relatively lightweight packaged items due to its inferior strength and lack of stiffness, it is not suitable for forming itself into containers, as well as various electrical appliances and various machinery that have functional parts. Due to its relatively heavy weight, it is difficult to use it for packaging things such as dogs.
Moreover, there was also the drawback that the air cap part was extremely bulky.

Therefore, in addition to being able to be formed into containers, this idea also makes use of the cushioning properties of the bulging ribs to make it suitable for storing products with functional parts, while increasing rigidity to create a laminate that is highly self-supporting and easy to maintain its shape. The structure is characterized by laminating a polystyrene resin foam sheet on the base side of a transparent i-impact polystyrene sheet with many bulging ribs formed thereon.

When the above-mentioned foam sheet 3 is made of a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, it is formed with a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer of 2 to 25% by weight and 98 to 5% by weight of maleic anhydride. Blends of polymers and other thermoplastic resins (such as polybutadiene) are also made of styrene containing 2 to 25% by weight of maleic anhydride.

This invention is constructed as described above, and the sheet formed with numerous bulging ribs 2 with air pockets 1 is made of a transparent high-impact polystyrene sheet 1 instead of a sheet with low rigidity like conventional products. Therefore, it has high rigidity and high self-supporting properties, and the foamed sheet 3 of polystyrene resin laminated on the base side of the sheet 1 makes it possible to form a laminate with even greater rigidity and excellent self-supporting properties. Since the shape of the laminate is easily maintained and the foam sheet 3 itself has a large cushioning property, sufficient cushioning property can be exhibited even if the bulging rib 2 is made low in volume.

In addition, because the laminate has excellent self-supporting properties, it has excellent moldability and can be molded into containers, as well as shapes that correspond to the shapes of various packaged items with functional parts, such as electrical appliances and machinery. It is also extremely easy to mold and form a cushioning body.

Moreover, there is also the advantage that the inside can be seen through the transparent high-impact polystyrene sheet 1.

Therefore, it is possible to obtain a packaging cushioning material for egg storage containers, trays for pears, phosphorus, etc., and various articles, with a large number of bulging ribs 2 that serve as air pockets, and the bulging ribs are made of high-impact polystyrene sheets. In addition, the strength is greater than that of conventional products, and it is possible to provide an excellent product that has a double buffering effect of the cushioning properties of the bulging ribs 2 and the cushioning properties of the foam sheet 3.
