Abstract

PURPOSE:A composition for lipsticks, containing a nut oil of macadamia and a cholesteryl-21-hydroxystearate, having soft and smooth feeling of use and good feeling of fit to the lips, improved keeping quality, preventing the roughness of the lips, and capable of giving moisture and luster to the lips. CONSTITUTION:A composition of lipsticks containing 25-70wt% nut oil of macadamia and 0.3-15wt% ester of cholesterol with 12-hydroxystearic acid expressed by the formula (n is 1,2 or 3). The use of the nut oil of the macadamia as a liquid oil component provides improved compatibility with other components, and lipsticks having a soft touch are obtained. The combination of the above-mentioned ester with the nut oil of the macadamia achieves the other purposes, e.g. improved feeling of fit to the lips. The nut oil of the macadamia is preferably a decolored and deodorized purified oil, and contains about 0.002- 0.2wt% antioxidant, e.g. tocopherol.
