Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance printing efficiency and enable to enhance printing speed, by making a DMA controlling part take a share of phase control for a pulse motor, in a printer having a micro-processor and a DMA controlling part. CONSTITUTION:A pulse motor M for feeding a printing head H is driven by a pulse P fed from a phase-controlling part 8. In this phase control, the DMA controlling part 5 takes out time data T1 from a table 7, and sets the data on a timer counter 9. When a preset time is reached by a clock pulse CL, the phase- controlling part 8 outputs a pulse P to the pulse motor M in response to an output signal A from the counter 9, and resets the counter 9. In response to the signal A, the DMA controlling part 5 again takes out time data T2, sets the data on the counter 9, and the same operations are repeated, thereby performing phase control for the motor M. Accordingly, load on the micro-processor 4 is reduced, and printing efficiency can be enhanced.

記タイマに設定する制御手段を前記第1の制御部に備え
、該第1の制御部が前記テーブル内の時間データを取出
して前記タイマに設定し、該タイマが設定時間に達した
際に出力される出力信号を前記第2の制御部に供給する
ことによシ前記パルスモータを制御することを特徴とす
る印字装置である。以上のように本発明はDMA制御部
(第1の制御部)と、位相制御部(第2の制御部)と、
マーブル内に設定された時間毎に時間パルスを供給する
制御手段をDMA制御部に設けることによシ、マイクロ
プロセサの処理負担の軽減を図ったものである。
