Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsion fuel which has high flame temperature and improved ignitability and combustion rate and generates only a small amount of soot, by pouring water, air and hydrogen into a liquid fuel under agitation. CONSTITUTION:Water, air and hydrogen are poured into a liquid fuel under agitation. For example, a liquid fuel, water, air and hydrogen are fed into a tank in a mixer for thorough agitation. The emulsion fuel thus prepared is fed into a burner for combustion. The ratios of water, air and hydrogen to the liquid fuel should pref. be 5-10, and 1-4% by volume, respectively.

Emulsion fuels made by mixing heavy oil with water and air are already known in order to save fuel, prevent air pollution, improve combustibility, and the like. However, this product does not necessarily fully achieve the above intended purpose, and is not necessarily satisfactory in terms of flame temperature, ignitability, burning speed, etc.The present invention is directed to heavy oil, The present invention attempts to solve the above problems all at once by providing an emulsion fuel made by injecting hydrogen in addition to water and air into a liquid fuel such as waste oil and stirring the mixture.

In the present invention, the liquid fuel that can be used is not only heavy oil but also waste oil and other fuels. The emulsion fuel of the present invention is produced by injecting water, air, and hydrogen into this liquid fuel and stirring the mixture. The ratio (volume) of water, air, and hydrogen to the liquid fuel is preferably about 5 to 10%, 1 to 4%, and 1 to 4%, respectively.

When producing the emulsion fuel of the present invention, for example, liquid fuel, water, air, and hydrogen are put in a predetermined ratio into a tank equipped with a stirrer, and the mixture is thoroughly stirred with the stirrer. The emulsion fuel produced in this way is guided to a search burner by a pump and combusted.

The emulsion fuel of the present invention has not only water and air but also hydrogen injected into the liquid fuel, so it has a higher flame temperature than the conventional emulsion fuel made by mixing only water and air with heavy oil9, ignitability, Not only does combustion co-production improve, but the amount of soot and dust generated also decreases.
