Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled ink excellent in erasability and quick drying, yielding clear, sharp writing with adequate stickiness, by dissolving dyes, resins, and polyether-modified silicone oils in org. solvents. CONSTITUTION:1-30wt% acidic, basic, or salt-forming dye (C.I. Solvent Black 29), 1-40wt% resin (e.g., maleinized rosin), and 0.01-2wt% polyether-modified silicone oil of formula I or formula II [wherein R is an (un)substd. monovalent hydrocarbon group; R' is alkyl or alkyl phenyl ether of polyoxyalkylene; 2<=m+ n<=70] are dissolved in an org. solvent having a vapor pressure (20 deg.C) of 1- 100mm.Hg or a b.p. of 50-180 deg.C (e.g., ethyl alcohol) to yield a marker ink for an overhead projector having a viscosity of 8cps or below and a surface tension (25 deg.C) of 22dyne/cm or below.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a marker ink for an overhead projector. In detail, for overhead projector (hereinafter abbreviated as OHP) films made of polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyester, acetate, etc., we provide handwriting such as a single character with a transparent and sharp design with appropriate adhesion. This invention relates to an OHP marker ink that satisfies handwriting erasability with solvents, quick drying properties, etc.

In OHP marker ink, since the handwriting on the film surface is projected and magnified by white light (visible light), emphasis has traditionally been placed on sharpening the handwriting, especially on suppressing blurring of the handwriting.

Conventionally, methods for suppressing bleeding include (1) increasing the viscosity of the ink, (2) incorporating a solvent that dissolves or swells the applied film, and (8) increasing the surface tension, etc., and various studies have been conducted regarding these. However, it does not have the performance of the present invention described above.

That is, although (1) above can suppress bleeding in a region exceeding approximately 10 cps (20°C), it also reduces the flow of ink from the pen tip, and it often becomes impossible to write due to evaporation of the ink after long-term use. Met. In (2), there is no practical solvent for polypropylene or polyester films, and the target is limited to polyvinyl chloride or acetate films, and the application of solvents that dissolve or swell the film is difficult because the dissolved resin on the film surface It clogs the pen tip and reduces ink flow.Furthermore, this type of ink stains the film, making it impossible to erase handwriting when cleaning it with a solvent, which is undesirable.
3) High surface tension is difficult to put into practical use due to limitations in solvent selection. To explain this point, in order to prevent handwriting from blurring on the film surface.

Conventional inks have a surface tension of at least 40 dyn.
Δm (20°C) or higher is required, but it satisfies quick drying properties. Among practical solvents such as alcohols, ketones, esters, aromatic hydrocarbons, and glycol ethers having a boiling point of 150'C or lower, the above-mentioned high surface tension solvents cannot be found. The surface tension of the practical solvent is approximately B Odyn/I

As mentioned above, the OHP of the present invention has problems with the conventional means and does not satisfy the various performances of the present invention described at the beginning.
By blending polyether-modified silicone oil into the coloring medium, the marker ink for use in marker ink has the various performances described at the beginning, and also satisfies marker suitability such as ink flowability from the pen tip and storage stability over time.

The main feature of the above is that a polyether-modified silicone oil is blended into one coloring medium, thereby achieving a low viscosity and low surface tension (8 cps or less + 22 dyn%m or less, (25°C)) that is effective for writing. ) is required to produce sharp handwriting without blurring.

The above polyether-modified silicone oil is 0 in the ink.
0.01 to 2% by weight, preferably 0.05 to 0.05% by weight.
It can be applied in a range of 8% by weight. (The following percentages indicate weight percentages.) The polyether-modified silicone oil in the above range has an affinity for the film surface due to the action of a nonionic surfactant, as shown by R'' in the structure, and an organopolymer of the basic skeleton. It is presumed that the anti-compatibility of siloxane with film is balanced and clear handwriting without bleeding can be obtained.
