Claims

A split electrode and a ground electrode of a filter that uses an energy trapping thickness vibration mode are provided on opposing main surfaces of a flat piezoelectric substrate, and a capacitor electrode is provided that is electrically connected to two of the split electrodes and the ground electrode, respectively.
A first-stage filter unit is formed by drawing out extraction electrodes from these divided electrodes and the ground electrode, respectively, to the periphery of the piezoelectric substrate, and an intermediate stage is formed by further providing capacitor electrodes that are electrically connected to the other divided electrode and the ground electrode, respectively, in the first-stage filter unit. A chip-type piezoelectric filter consisting of a stage filter unit, a final stage filter unit having the same electrode configuration as the first stage filter unit, and an insulating exterior plate, the exterior plate being disposed on the outermost side, and the first stage filter unit having the same electrode configuration as the first stage filter unit. The filter unit, intermediate stage filter unit, and final stage filter unit are stacked, and each overlapping surface is adhered with adhesive to at least the upper part of the above-mentioned split electrode and ground electrode, with a gap between them, and the outer peripheral surface thereof is electrically connected to the above-mentioned lead-out electrode. A first-stage filter unit, an intermediate-stage filter unit, and a final-stage filter unit are cascade-connected in this order to form connection electrodes that form a three-stage filter, and the input terminal, output terminal, and ground terminal of the three-stage filter are connected to the outer periphery.
